A ceramic decanter from Royal Doulton containing 75cl of Famous Grouse blended Scotch whisky. We estimate this was produced in the 1980s. The single malt whiskies used in The Famous Grouse blend include the Edrington-owned Highland Park and The Macallan. Its emblem is the Red Grouse, Scotland’s national game bird.

An interesting addition to the Famous Grouse range, this was aged in first fill sherry casks, and is based around malt whisky from Highland Park and Macallan. Packaged very simply, this is a superb value-for-money blend.
Naked Malt is the new name of the Naked Grouse of the Famous Grouse brand. It was created as its own brand to add a sweet and smooth variation to the range of the Famous Grouse Whiskies. The content is the same, even with the new name: The Blended Malt includes Whiskies from Glenturret, Highland Park and Macallan.
First Fill Oloroso sherry cask.
Naked Grouse was first introduced to The Edrington Groups Famous Grouse whisky portfolio (if memory serves me right) around 2011, it was originally launched as a premium sherry rich Scotch Blended Whisky containing a blend of grain and single malt whiskies including two of Edrington’s most renowned single malts, Highland Park and The Macallan.
At that time the new sherry rich Naked Grouse with its first fill sherry cask influence represented quite a significant departure from the usual style of Scotch blended whiskies, but one which caught the interest of normally devout single malt whisky drinkers.
In 2017, Edrington took the Naked Grouse out of The Famous Grouse portfolio and relaunched it as a standalone brand with a very different flavour and personality than its predecessor, the grain whisky had now been removed from the blend and it was now a Blended Malt, containing amongst others, single malts from Edrington’s Highland Park, The Macallan and The Glenrothes distilleries.
The single malts were blended together by Edrington’s Master Blender and then added to the first-fill sherry casks to further marry and mature for at least a further six months, the whisky then went through a final chill-filter before bottling.
The result was Naked Grouse, now a sherry rich Scotch Blended Malt with a buttery toffee scent on the nose which is malty and reminiscent of orchard fruits. On the palate sultanas, rich fudge and cooked apples come through, followed by a finish of soft spice and toasted oak.
Now 2021, Edrington have rebranded Naked Grouse as Naked Malt, which makes sense really as they had already taken it out the The Famous Grouse portfolio back in 2017 although it still carried the Grouse name until now.
There has been no change to the whisky you will find in the bottle with this latest rebranding, it is simply a new name, Naked Malt, which will be presented with a new contemporary look.
Diane Stuart, Naked Malt Master Blender, commented: “Naked Malt is blended using some of the finest Scottish single malts, each selected for its quality and individual flavour. Every cask of Single Malt Scotch whisky selected for our blend is nosed to ensure it meets our exacting standard.
“By extra maturing Naked Malt in first-fill Oloroso sherry casks, we deliver quality and intensity of flavour enviable in the contemporary whisky category. We create the perfect balance of sweet, fruity character from the American oak with the rich, dried fruit and spicy notes from the European oak to produce Naked Malts signature flavour. But what matters most is that you enjoy it whichever way you like.”

The Famous Grouse blended Scotch whisky, which has been allowed to marry in specially selected Port casks, a variation on the classic recipe that really comes through on the finish with notes of dark red fruits.
The Famous Grouse Sherry Cask Finish has aromas of cocoa, sherry, cherries and light oak. Sweet on the tongue by the Sherry tones, herbs and some fruit. The aftertaste is full of flavor with notes of chocolate and spices.
Speyside malts were matured in Sherry-seasoned, European oak casks to craft Famous Grouse Sherry Cask Finish. The blend has been in development for two years.
Sanele Gwala, global senior brand manager at The Famous Grouse, explained: “This new, revived blend is finished in Sherry casks and butts seasoned in the region of Jerez, Spain. The aim was to create a blend that is slightly sweeter but still in keeping with the smooth and distinct DNA of classic Grouse.
“Once the blend is in its final stages of maturation, which involves the meticulous combination of hand selected malt and grain whiskies, The Famous Grouse master blender does not stop there; the full blend is married in ex-Sherry casks to further enhance their sweet, rich, and smooth characters.
“The Sherry Cask Finish is a decadent blend of festive flavours including chocolate, almonds, dried fruits, and sweet spices.”
The packaging pays tribute to the Spanish female capercaillie bird, part of the grouse family. This particular bird was chosen for its link to the product’s Spanish Sherry heritage, as well as its orange and red plumage, which ‘echoes the deep amber’ of the liquid.

A rather interesting release from The Famous Grouse back in 2004, made with a blend of malt whiskies distilled in 1992.
Following the success of the 1989 vintage comes this new vatted malt from Famous Grouse. A big step up in quality from the standard blend, with Highland Park and Macallan again featuring in the mix.
A one litre bottle of Famous Grouse Winter Reserve, which was, as expected, a limited winter release unveiled at the tail end of 2018. The blend features a good helping of malt whiskies aged in sherry casks, imparting a classic spicy sherried character that’ll be sure to warm your cockles during the cold months. After more than a decade in American white oak ex-bourbon barrels, this 12-year-old single malt from Fettercairn is a classic example of the distillery’s signature tropical fruit style. The palate brings notes of vanilla, pears and soft spices, before a fruity wave of nectarines, tropical fruit, clove, ginger and roasted coffee. The finish is lingering and sweet, offering notes of black toffee and sultanas.
The 2021-release of 16-year-old single malt from Fettercairn is a soft, sweet single malt with notes of vanilla, ginger, raisins, peaches, honey, banana and chocolate throughout the palate and lingering in the finish.
This is the Fettercairn Distillery’s second release of its 16 year old single malt Scotch whisky, and this time, the team has gone for a distinctly sherried styling. Whisky matured and finished in three different types of sherry casks has been used for this expression, including first-fill Oloroso, refill Oloroso, and first-fill Palo Cortado sherry butts. The complex sherried notes work wonderfully with Fettercairn’s top-quality spirit, resulting in a whisky that ought to really impress.

The Cypriot mandarins that are used are rich in aromas and ethereal oils. They are known all over Cyprus as “the mandarins of Arakapas”. The whole production process is done by hand and from mandarins to bottle takes three months.

This expression from Nicaragua’s Flor De Caña was specially produced for the brand’s 130th anniversary, which we can all agree, is a very long time indeed. As such, you can expect a delicious expression, with oodles of dark fruit and waves of caramel.
A luxurious golden rum from celebrated Nicaraguan distillers Flor de Cana, aged for 18 years in small white oak casks. Marvellously mellow stuff, with notes of nuts, caramel, vanilla and spice followed by a lingering finish.
This Flor de Cana 19-year-old rum is an exclusive normally offered to travelers. In other words, this edition is usually found in airports and other duty-free areas.
This is a rum distilled from 100% renewable energy and aged naturally. It is aged for over 19 years in small ex-bourbon American oak barrels in a unique environment. The family estate is located less than eight kilometers from the San Cristobal volcano, Nicaragua’s highest and most active volcano.

As far as Kentucky straight bourbon whiskies go, Four Roses Yellow Label really does pack a punch. This is a blend of 10 gorgeous bourbons giving a tasty and spicy unique flavour and 40% ABV.
Four Roses founder Paul Jones Jr. became undoubtedly smitten by a beautiful woman who he proposed to. She said she would let him know her answer later by attending an evening ball with a four rose corsage. We guess she said yes, since he renamed his entire brand to Four Roses. This Single Barrel 100 Proof bourbon is plummy and fruity with lots of character, it makes a fantastic Hot Toddy or Kentucky lemonade.
A terrific small-batch bourbon from Four Roses – and in this case, Small Batch means just that – only four casks are used in the construction of each release. Sweet and spicy, with a generous dash of vanilla, this is a treat.
This exceptional Foursquare distillery in Barbados, this impressive expression combines a blend of 2010 pot and column-distilled rum, matured for 12 years in bourbon casks. Bottled up at a wholesome 60% ABV in July 2022, it now takes pride of place in the Exceptional Cask Selection.
The 24th Foursquare Exceptional Cask Selection maintains the high standard we’ve come to expect from this series, offering powerful notes of citrus oil, treacle tart, fresh ginger and Sarawak pepper. Ageing in white oak bourbon barrels contributes a layer of vanilla ice cream and coconut without obscuring the underlying spirit character. One for the rum lovers, naturally, but anyone who appreciates fine spirits will find lots to enjoy here.
This blend of pot and column distilled rum from the Foursquare distillery in Barbados joins That Boutique-y Rum Company’s Cinema Series. The rum began its maturation in Barbados, residing in a bourbon cask, before it arrived in the UK and was re-racked in a sauternes cask, bringing a softly sweet, fruity balance to the rich caramel and oak at its core.

This is the 26th release in Foursquare’s Exceptional Cask Selection. It’s a combo of pot and column-distilled rum from the legendary Barbados distillery. The blend comprises rum matured for 16 years in a bourbon barrel along with two dual maturations, one which spent its first three years in a bourbon cask followed by 13 in an oloroso sherry cask, and another that spent nine years in bourbon, and seven in oloroso sherry casks. Exceptional stuff as ever from the legendary Foursquare.
Alexander Valley is a long, narrow valley that runs from north to south. While the southern part is cooler due to the fog still penetrating there, the northern part has a reliably warm climate, which is particularly suitable for the cultivation of this late maturing grape variety.
The soils have a great variety, from red volcanic soils to the east, to alluvial soils at the bottom of the valley, to rock-ridden clay soils to the west.
This cuvée is made up of Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc grape varieties. After harvesting and fermentation, the Director’s Cut Cabernet Sauvignon was aged for 12 months in French oak barriques.
The Russian River Valley climate is defined by a regular intrusion of cooling fog from the Pacific Ocean a few miles to the west. Much like the tide, the fog ebbs and flows, arriving each evening, cooling the area down from its daytime temperatures by as much as 35 to 40 degrees. This natural air conditioning provides for an extended growing season where the grapes mature slowly for optimal development and maintain a good level of natural acidity. The Russian River Valley’s loam and alluvial soil compositions create a very rich and fragrant Pinot Noir that offers pronounced floral notes and a distinct earthy character.
Made with fruit grown entirely in the Dry Creek Valley appellation, where the combination of climate and location produces excellent Zinfandel fruit with intensely concentrated flavor. Half of the fruit was crushed whole, and the must (seeds and skins) was fermented in open-top fermentors for maximum color extraction and flavor enhancement.
Our Zinfandel is unique in that it’s blended with one of our favorite selections of Petite Sirah. Even though the Zinfandel from this terrific vintage showed great complexity on its own, we added Petite Sirah to enhance the structure of the wine. A combination of French and American oak enhanced the fruit’s spice qualities, giving the wine some shoulders as well.

Cordon Negro Brut Extra Dry uses the same luscious Spanish grape varieties as Cordon Negro Brut, embracing Macabeo, Xarel-lo and Parellada grape varieties, with slightly higher alcohol levels and a dosage of 23 grams per liter. The light, fruity Macabeo, combined with the robust, powerful depth of Xarel-lo, and the demonstrative finesse of the Parellada grapes delivers a great balance of aroma and acidity.

You never usually see Fuji whiskey outside of Japan… until now! This single grain is made predominately of malted barley and corn with some rye and comprises three different styles, a Canadian-style grain whiskey made using batch distillation with a kettle distiller (similar to a pot still), a bourbon-style grain whiskey distillate using a doubler (Fuji boasts the only kettle and Doubler outside the U.S.), and a Scotch-style grain whisky made using a column still.
Check out the bottom of the bottle and you’ll notice an indent that looks a little like a mountain. Isn’t there a Mount Fuji? Probably just a coincidence.
From the giant Fuji Gotemba Distillery comes the brand’s signature single malt. Yes, the distillery is at the base of Mount Fuji and that’s where it gets its name. Matured in a combination of bourbon and beer casks (the brand is owned by the Kirin Brewery Company so has good access), this is an elegant, Scotch-style single malt.
This is a blend of single malt and grain whiskies made at Fuji Gotemba distillery. It was matured in ex-bourbon casks which add aromas of coconut alongside dried apricot and peach on the nose, followed by pleasant notes of orchard fruit, citrus peel and rosehip.

Produced in the French region of Cognac, G’Vine is a hint as to what this unique gin contains. It’s actually infused with Ugni Blanc grape, as well as some more standard botanicals including ginger root, liquorice, cardamom, cassia bark, coriander, cubeb berries, nutmeg, lime and even a bit of juniper.

Galliano L’Autentico is an Italian liqueur created in 1896 by Arturo Vaccari of Tuscany. It was named for Giuseppe Galliano, who was an Italian war hero. The liqueur is made with vanilla, citrus, ginger and anise.

Gin Mare is surely one of those drinks that are absolutely unique. It belongs to a generation of gins that clearly distinguish themselves from everything that’s existed before. This is due to a completely new ingredient philosophy followed now by numerous gin manufacturers. It basically comes down to: the more exotic the botanicals, the more interesting the drink. Gin Mare gets its great taste from thyme, rosemary, basil and Arbequina olives. It represents the Mediterranean origin of the Spanish drink which is produced at the Costa Daurada. Coriander, cardamom, orange and lemon peels and of course juniper round the gin’s character off.
