Bourbon whiskey is a type of American whiskey, a barrel-aged distilled spirit made primarily from corn. The name ultimately derives from the French Bourbon dynasty, although the precise inspiration for the whiskey’s name is uncertain; contenders include Bourbon County in Kentucky and Bourbon Street in New Orleans, both of which are named after the dynasty. Four Roses founder Paul Jones Jr. became undoubtedly smitten by a beautiful woman who he proposed to. She said she would let him know her answer later by attending an evening ball with a four rose corsage. We guess she said yes, since he renamed his entire brand to Four Roses. This Single Barrel 100 Proof bourbon is plummy and fruity with lots of character, it makes a fantastic Hot Toddy or Kentucky lemonade.
