Macallan Travel Series 1920s Decades Twenties (50cl, 40%)
The pictures are from the actual bottle frond and back, if you’d like more detailed photos just get in touch!
The Macallan Decades consists of four whiskies that were created to recreate the style of single malt produced as the distillery in the 1920s, 1930s, 1940s and 1950s. Thankfully their reference material for these was more reliable than the 19th century examples used to create their infamous Replica series.
One of four bottles released by the Macallan which depicts the style of The Macallan from the 1920’s to 1950’s. Each release has an illustration with of-the-era artwork featuring classic modes of transport from each decade.
To re-create the style of The Macallan in the 1920’s, their master distiller has sampled bottles of The Macallan from that decade and matched their aroma and flavour with more recent distillations taken from the casks maturing in their warehouses.
During the 1920’s, most of The Macallan produce was sold to whisky blenders as a “top dressing” single malt for their blended whiskies. The few remaining casks continued to mature their contents for longer, resulting in a whisky that was slightly drier and less toffee sweet than modern day Macallan.

To re-create the style of Macallan in the 1920s, 30s, 40s, and 50s, their Master Distiller sampled bottles of The Macallan from that decade and matched their aroma and flavour with more recent distillations taken from the casks maturing in the warehouses.
This contains the compete Travel Series from The Macallan.
This range was created by The Macallan’s Master Distiller to re-create the style of whisky produced at the distillery throughout the decades. Each bottle represents a different decade, from the 1920s when The Macallan was mainly used for blends, to the 1950s which saw sherry casks become available again following World War II.

Part of a series launched for the Travel Retail market by Macallan in the late 1990s/early 2000s, this expression was created to reflect the flavours of their whiskies produced in the 1920s up to 1950s. A creamier, more bourbon-cask-influenced Macallan than the heavily-Sherried Macallan you’ll likely be familiar with, and with a particularly pronounced peaty hint.

Meikle Tòir The Chinquapin One (70cl, 48%)
From the first series of whiskies by Meikle Tòir, a peated whisky brand made at GlenAllachie Distillery with the assistance of expert whisky maker Billy Walker, whose influence can certainly be seen here with this innovative cask profile. The single malt Scotch whisky, peated to 35ppm (using mainland St. Fergus peat, a sweeter variety than its coastal counterparts) and fermented for a lengthy 160 hours fermentation, was aged in American oak bourbon barrels followed by Chinquapin virgin oak casks, a bold barrel that imparts big, sweet, and rich flavours.
Meikle Tòir The Original (70cl, 50%)
The Meikle Tòir range (meaning ‘big pursuit’ and pronounced mee-kuhl tor) comprises peated whisky made at GlenAllachie Distillery with guidance from legendary master distiller Billy Walker. The Original is a single malt made with mainland peat from St. Fergus, a sweeter, grassier variety than found on the coast. The barley was peated to 35ppm and then the whisky was aged in a combination of first-fill bourbon barrels, American virgin oak casks, and rye barrels. It was bottled at 50% ABV without chill-filtration or additional colouring.
Meikle Tòir The Sherry One (70cl, 48%)
Meikle Tòir The Sherry One is a peated whisky made at GlenAllachie Distillery using mainland peat from St. Fergus. The whisky was peated to 35ppm and benefited from a lengthy fermentation period of 160 hours to create a fruity, complex spirit that could stand up to ageing in sherry casks, which is exactly what it did. Pedro Ximénez and oloroso sherry puncheons, to be exact, following an initial maturation in American oak bourbon barrels. One for fans of smoke and sherry.
Mortlach 12 Year Old (70cl, 43.4%)
This is a 12 year old single malt produced at the Mortlach distillery in Speyside, unveiled in 2018 as part of a trio (including a 16 Year Old and a 20 Year Old). This particular expression features the subtitle The Wee Witchie, which comes from the name of the tiny still that distils a portion of the whisky. It’s drawn from bourbon and sherry casks, and packs a hearty punch of meaty Mortlach-y malt at its core, supported by dried fruit and toffee notes.
Mortlach 14 Year Old (70cl, 43.4%)
Originally released as a travel retail exclusive, this Mortlach 14 Year Old has been nicknamed Alexander’s Way in honour of the distillery’s former owner, Alexander Cowie. Thanks to Alexander Cowie, Mortlach distils its spirit 2.81 times, a rather unique process known as ‘The Way’. So, there you have it, Alexander’s Way. This expression has been matured for 14 years in refill bourbon and sherry casks, with oodles of creamy notes and jam packed full of spice.

Behold, the very final bottling in the Game of Thrones Single Malts Collection! We present to you Six Kingdoms, a beasty 15 Year Old Mortlach. Those of you who are all up to date with Game of Thrones lore (and if you aren’t, beware of spoilers ahead!) will remember that there were in fact, seven kingdoms in Westeros, but in the season finale the North became independent, taking the number down to six. The Speysider was matured in first-fill sherry casks, with a finish in American oak bourbon casks. The limited edition single malt is bottled at 46% ABV, presented in a metallic gold presentation tube, decorated with a pen and ink drawing of the mysterious three-eyed raven (aka Bran the Broken). The show may be over, but long may it live in the form of delicious whisky!
Mortlach 25 Year Old 50cl, 43.4%
The oldest expression from the 2014 release of Mortlach single malt Scotch whiskies is their 25 Year Old. Mortlach use whisky matured mostly in refill American oak casks, aged for a quarter of a century before bottling the whisky into these remarkably designed bottles. Along with the Rare Old, the 18 Year Old and the travel retail exclusive Special Strength, there’s now a handsome selection of Mortlach single malts to enjoy – quite a contrast to years previous, when official bottlings were few and far between.

Singleton Glendullan Reserve Game of Thrones House Tully (70cl, 40%)
The ancestral home of House Tully, Riverrun, sits at the junction of the Red Fork of the Trident and the Tumblestone River. The ruling Lord of the Riverlands, House Tully embodies the power and ferocity of the rivers it sits between. Using the power found in their positioning, House Tully forged strong alliances and built a history of honour, family and duty. Built along the banks of the River Fiddich, Glendullan Distillery originally relied on the waters it lay beside, using a water wheel to power the entire distillery. Like the Tullys themselves, this single malt can benefit from a splash of water, opening up flavours of green apple, honey and sweet vanilla.

Over the past 20 or so years, the distillery changed hands from Invergordon Distillers to Whyte & MacKay, closed a few years later and reopened in 2007. Much of its single malt output is used in blends, but a few casks of single malt would sneak out as indie bottlings to allow us a rare taste of Tamnavulin – but now they’ve got their very own expression! Tomintoul with a Peaty Tang (70cl, 40%)
We assume that this new no-age-statement peated Tomintoul must be similar to the Old Ballantruan but at a reduced strength. Either way, at this price it must be worth a punt for peatheads.
White Heather 15 Year Old (70cl, 46%)
This is a 15 year old blended Scotch whisky from the White Heather range, created by master blender Billy Walker. For this expression, malt whiskies from Speyside, Islay, and the Highlands have been used, alongside grain whisky. Whisky was drawn from ex-bourbon barrels and hogshead, as well as Spanish sherry butts, then blended together expertly. Following that, it was reracked into Pedro Ximénez sherry, Oloroso sherry, and American virgin oak casks.

White Heather 21 Year Old (70cl, 48%)
The folks at GlenAllachie (including the legendary Billy Walker) have gone and made a blended Scotch whisky! White Heather 21 Year Old is made with whiskies from Speyside, the Highlands and Islay, aged in first-fill American barrels, sherry butts, and second-fill barrels and hogsheads. The blend also enjoyed three years of additional maturation in Pedro Ximénez puncheons, Oloroso puncheons, and Appalachian virgin oak casks. The name comes from a blended whisky brand that was discontinued back in the 1980s, which was acquired by The GlenAllachie Distillers Company in 2017.

Wormtub 10 Year Old Natural Cask Strength Sherry Cask Batch 3 70cl, 56.2%
Wormtubs are classic bits of distilling equipment and the distinctive, heavy, robust flavours they create are prized by whisky fans. Yet, those long copper coiled tubes housed in cold water in a large vat are sadly too rare these days as many favoured more modern and efficient condensers. They’re the vinyl of the whisky world.
This expression takes some beautiful whisky that was at least ten years old from a distillery in Speyside that uses wormtubs (that we can’t name, but we think there will be a few among you who can work it out), reracked into first-fill sherry casks before bottling. It’s bottled at natural cask strength without any added caramel for colouring. Find us another whisky this cool at this price that showcases the beauty of the ‘tub like this.
