Whisky (or whiskey) is produced in various guises all over the world. Japanese Whisky, Irish Whiskey and American Whiskeys (including Bourbon) are challenging Scotch Whisky, with of them many winning notable awards and accolades. Meanwhile, whiskies from countries as diverse as India, Canada, Sweden, Wales, Taiwan and England are also becoming increasingly noteworthy in both quality and abundance.
The distillation process spread to Scotland and Ireland by the 15th century via Alexandrian Greeks, Medieval Arabs and Latin Europeans. The Scots and the Irish, who already had a well-developed tradition of farming cereal crops, used the technique to distil from a variety of fermented grain mashes to produce a spirit, most closely resembling today’s new make spirits.
The process of distilling fermented grain mash and aging it in oak barrels to make Whisky (or whiskey) has spread the world and has resulted in a remarkable range of styles, including Single Malt Whisky, Blended Malt Whisky, Grain Whisky, Rye Whiskey and Blended Whisky (containing both Single Malt Whisky and Grain Whisky).

Amrut Fusion X (ten), a special, limited-edition single malt whisky was launched on the November 25 in honour of the 10th anniversary of Amrut Distilleries. This is the brand that put Indian whiskies on the global map and gave us Amrut Spectrum, Naarangi, Amalgam, and of course, Fusion.
In 2009, the late chairman and managing director, Neelkanta Rao Jagdale was high up in the mountains of Nilgiris in Ooty. Fired with the desire to create a whisky that was Indian in nature, but international in its profile, he worked with several samples of peated and unpeated malts at his summer residence in the hills, till he arrived at the mix that was to become the final character of Amrut Fusion.
On his return to Bengaluru, the production team got to work, and Amrut Fusion was launched in 2010. It went on to win three awards and was adjudged 3rd Best Whisky in the world by whisky-guru Jim Murray. As a brand, Amrut is currently present in 58 countries with a globally growing footprint.
The cap is unique and comes from Portugal. It has a sketch of Neel surrounded by a rangoli pattern. It also comes with an integrated NFC chip in partnership with Vlinder, which adds a great level of safety to your collectable bottle. This variant is a composition of various grain and malt whiskeys that have been allowed to mature in white oak barrels for at least thirty years. Because a number of these whiskeys are no longer available, this variant of Angus Dundee is also limited . It offers a very rich and soft aroma full of spice and light notes of citrus. Its palate is smooth, creamy and full of notes of vanilla that slowly contract with the sweet malted barley leaning towards honey . A wave of fruity sweetness takes you to its finish that is full of sweet notes and a spicy finish. Angus Dundee 30 Years has an alcohol percentage of 40%.
