A smoky, sweet Guatemalan rum from Zacapa, Edicion Negra has been finished in a combination of ex-bourbon and Pedro Ximenez sherry casks. It is a fruity rum, with notes of chocolate, caramelised pineapple, raisins, dried apricots and barbecue smoke throughout the palate.
El Dorado Port Mourant Uitvlugt 2010 Orange 70cl 51%
El Dorado Port Mourant Uitvlugt 2010 Orange is a molasses rum from Guyana. It was distilled at Diamond, on the banks of the Demerara River, the only distillery still active in the country. This distillery has the particularity of having brought together all the stills of the old plantations of Guyana, which have now disappeared. Among these stills, the famous wooden pot-still from Port Mourant, and the 4 columns from Uitvlugt.
The assembly of these two “marks” (PM and ICBU) was carried out before ageing, hence the term “blended in the barrel”. Distillation took place in 2010, and the rum was bottled cask strength in 2019.
El Dorado Uitvlugt Enmore 2008 Blue 70cl 47.4%
El Dorado Uitvlugt Enmore 2008 Blue is a molasses rum distilled at Diamond in Guyana. This distillery in the Demerara River region is home to some of the most legendary stills in the world. El Dorado has preserved the know-how and stills of the country’s old distilleries, and thus has an infinite number of different flavour profiles. The brand blends these “marks” into its regular range and also experiments, such as this “blended in the barrel” series.
Here are two marks of the Uitvlugt columns (ICBU and GS/20), assembled before aging with the fabulous EHP mark of the Enmore column.
The rum was distilled in 2008, then placed in ex-bourbon casks. It was bottled in 2019, without reduction, brut de fût.

El Dorado Port Mourant Uitvlugt Diamond 2010 Violet is a molasses rum from the mythical Demerara region of Guyana. After the ‘Rare Collection’ series, El Dorado returns with ‘blended in the barrel’. These are blends of different stills, made before ageing in old bourbon casks.
The Port Mourant double pot-still is featured, as well as the Uitvlugt and Diamond columns. The distillation took place in 2010, for a raw cask bottling in 2019.
El Dorado Diamond Port Mourant 2010 Green 70cl 49.1%
El Dorado Diamond Port Mourant 2010 Green is a blended in the barrel from the famous Demerara distillery. This region of Guyana was once home to dozens of distilleries, each producing a different style of rum. These distilleries have all closed today, but some of their stills and recipes have been preserved.
The Diamond distillery has blended rums from Coffey columns and the legendary Port Mourant pot-still before ageing.
These rums were distilled in 2010, placed in old bourbon barrels, and bottled brut de fût in 2019.

A rather marvellous overproof dark rum from the Plantation range. Their O.F.T.D. (which stands for ‘Old Fashioned Traditional Dark’) is comprised of a blend of rums distilled in Barbados, Jamaica and Guyana, which has been bottled at a hefty 69% ABV. This’ll be excellent for cocktails, we reckon…

Pacto Navio is a Cuban rum finished in Sauternes casks. Named after the 1815 treaty which restored peace between France and Spain, this is a creamy rum with notes of citrus and cinnamon.

Plantation Peru 2006 14 Year Old Single Traditional Blended Rum 70cl, 47.9%
A 2006 Peruvian rum from Plantation that was matured in a tropical climate for 11 years, before being transported to France for a further two years of aging in ex-Ferrand Cognac casks. The palate offers notes of mango, roasted walnuts, nougat, vanilla and baking spice that linger in the finish.

Plantation Trinidad 2009 12 Year Old Single Modernist Rum 70cl, 51.8%
This limited edition rum began life in Trinidad, where it remained in oak for 10 years before making the long voyage to Jarnac in south-western France. It was then filled into Cognac casks for a final year of maturation prior to bottling. The resulting rum is rich and full-bodied with plenty of cooked fruits, coffee beans and almond pastries.

Plantation Australia 2007 14 Year Old Single Traditional Pot Still Rum 70cl, 49.3%
A 2007-vintage Australian rum from Plantation, made at Beenliegh Artisan Distillery and matured in bourbon casks for 13 years, before being transported to Europe for one year continental aging in Ferrand casks. Aromas of peaches, apricots, vanilla, coconut and lilac fill the nose, complemented by notes of cooked fruits, citrus, cocoa, vanilla and exotic fruits throughout the palate.

Amrut Two Indies Rum takes its name from the fact that Christopher Columbus, the discoverer of America, made a mistake on his voyage.
While he was heading straight for America and the Caribbean islands, Columbus thought he had discovered India.
The special thing about this rum – it is produced by Amrut Distilleries in India, but is a blend of Caribbean rums.
The Amrut Two Indies Rum contains distillates from Jamaica, Barbados and Guyana.

By Neptune’s beard – it’s Neptune Rum! This is a blend of eight, five and three year aged golden rum distilled from pure sugar cane molasses at Foursquare Distillery on the island of Barbados. That blend was matured in American bourbon oak barrels before it filtered using a specific cold filtration process and diluted with soft spring water to its bottling strength of 40% ABV.
Neptune Rum is perfect for enjoying over ice or with your favourite mixer. The name also also definitely a reference to the Roman god of freshwater and the sea, not the eighth planet in our solar system or 1990s/2000s hip-hop production duo.

By Neptune’s beard – it’s Neptune Rum Caribbean Spiced! Yes, we know we made that joke the last time, but we’re sticking with it. Anyway, this spiced variation of Neptune Rum has been infused with papaya, damiana, vanilla and cinnamon, bolstering the fruity, creamy, generally delicious notes of the Caribbean rums at its core. Excellently bright and juicy, we reckon this will be perfect for some summery cocktails.

Matured for a decade under the Caribbean sun, Bacardi Diez Gran Reserva is a rich, fruity rum with notes of peaches, plums, overripe banana, pear and caramelised vanilla.
