Springbank Vintage 1997 Batch No.2 bottled 2008 (70cl, 54.9%)
This is the second batch of Springbank Vintage 1997. The first batch proved very popular indeed, and when this one was bottled in 2008, it was yet another stunning release from the distillery in Campbeltown. Something must have been happening in 1997… It was the year that Daft Punk released their first album, and the Chemical Brothers released brilliant their second album in 1997 too… Perhaps great electronic music is the the perfect soundtrack for distilling great whisky.
Quite a highly acclaimed Springbank chosen by Frank McHardy, distilled in 1997 and bottled in June 2007 at cask strength.

Talisker Select Reserve Game of Thrones House Greyjoy (70cl, 45.8%)
A sea-faring people, House Greyjoy rule over the Iron Islands and worship the Drowned God. The Ironborn live and breathe the sea, making their fortune amidst salt and smoke. With the sweat of their brows and the strength of their backs the Greyjoys have forged their place amongst the great Houses of Westeros, feeding their people and surviving on the desolate Iron Islands. They pay the Iron Price to succeed. On the shores of one of the most remote and rugged Islands in Scotland, the Isle of Skye, lies Talisker Distillery. Its wave-beaten shores imbue its whisky with Talisker’s signature maritime character. An intense, smoky single malt, with spicy and sweet notes, whose maritime edge makes this the perfect whisky to represent House Greyjoy.

Tomatin 15 Year Old Moscatel Cask Finish (70cl, 46%)
15 year old single malt from the Tomatin distillery, which have been treated to a generous five-year-long finishing period in casks that previously held Portuguese Moscatel wine. Not a particularly common type of cask for whisky maturation, but one that imparts hefty notes of dried fruit and toasted nuts – sounds excellent to us!

Trump Super Premium Vodka (75cl, 40%)
Trump Premium Vodka is created in Holland by the Wanders Distillers distillery, distilled from select European wheat five distillations four of them in activated carbon, and then rested for six months in stainless steel vats, this Premium vodka belongs to the billionaire and EX US president, Donald Trump.
In 2005, Drinks Americas signed with Donald Trump to promote a new brand of vodka which became known as Trump Vodka. The brand was launched with the slogan “Success Distilled”, with Trump predicting it would outsell Grey Goose vodka. He also said that when mixed with tonic, which he referred to as a “Trump & Tonic” (T&T), it would become the most drunk cocktail in the United States.
The Trump Vodka brand was discontinued in the United States in 2011 due to sales failing to meet the company threshold requirements. Several reasons were attributed for this. One was because Trump himself is a non-drinker and never drank Trump Vodka, as he blamed alcohol for the death of his brother Fred Trump, Jr. Drinks Americas also had problems producing it because the glass used in the bottles and the gold leaf labels were expensive and the company could not afford to produce them in large numbers. In 2015, during his campaign for president, Trump did not include Trump Vodka amongst assets submitted to the Federal Election Committee.

Whyte & Mackay 19 Year Old Old Luxury 70cl, 40%
Old Luxury is a well-aged blend partially matured in Matusalem sherry butts.
A matusalem sherry-matured blend – this will be weighty and rich: approach with suitable gravitas. On a side note, we are loving W&M’s Mackintosh-esque rebrand, which seems to be bucking recent trends by actually making the product look better.

Wolfburn Batch No.128 (70cl, 46%)
A small batch release from the Wolfburn distillery, showing off their single malt Scotch whisky after a maturation in 100 litre first-fill ex-bourbon casks. The name comes from where these little rascals were matured: warehouse 1, stow 28. Batch No.128 is a release of 6,000 bottles.
Wolfburn Batch No.270 (70cl, 46%)
The second release in a range of small batch single malt Scotch whisky releases from the Wolfburn distillery in Thurso. Similar to Batch No.128, this was matured in half-sized, first-fill bourbon barrel, but in contrast to previous release, Batch No.270 was made with unpeated spirit, giving all those yummy vanilla-y elements from the small casks centre stage. 6,000 bottles were produced.
Wolfburn Kylver Series – Release 3 (70cl, 50%)
This is the third release from Wolfburn’s Kylver Series – each one features a different from from the runic alphabet found on the Kylver stone (one of the earliest forms of alphabet discovered). Emblazoned upon this bottling is the rune meaning thurs, which meant “thorn” to some, while to others it meant “giant”. This limited edition expression shows off a bourbon-cask-lead flavour profile, with a whisper of Sherry sneaking in later on..
