Single malt Scotch whisky is one of the most revered spirits in the world. It has such scope for variation, it can offer complexity or simplicity, unbridled power or a subtle whisper. To legally be called a single malt Scotch, the whisky must be distilled at a single distillery in Scotland, in a copper pot still from nothing other than malted barley, yeast and water. It must then be aged in an oak cask for at least three years and a day, and be bottled at no less than 40% abv.

More awesomeness here from Ardnamurchan! You might be wondering what happened with the name on this one, did the folks at Ardnamurchan forget to add all the usual numbers to the end? Perhaps we got distracted mid-sentence by a colourful bird flying past, or a robot vacuum cleaner buzzing around our feet? The answer is simple, this is no mistake! Going forward, Ardnamurchan’s AD/ bottlings will no longer have all those confusing digits. The whisky remains unchanged though, following its traditional combination of 50% peated and 50% unpeated malt, matured in a combination of 65% bourbon and 35% sherry casks.
A fruity, sweet single malt from Ardnamurchan distillery, AD was made with a combination of peated and un-peated malt and matured in both ex-bourbon casks and ex-sherry casks. Aromas of toasted marshmallows, pebble beaches, orange oil and popcorn fill the nose, complemented by notes of melted chocolate, marshmallow, lime cordial, sea salt, bitter orange, dark chocolate and salted popcorn throughout the palate.

Drawn from Matusalem Oloroso and Amoroso Oloroso Sherry butts and hand-sourced from the famous Gonzalez Byass bodega, This Dalmore 30-year-old Whisky is an assemblage of the finest aged stocks. Bottled in 2015, this is a limited edition of just 888 bottles. It has aromas of black Morello cherries, sweet raisins and cider apples on the nose. A mixture of ripe mangoes, warm spices and Colombian coffee with subtle oak on the palate. This is one of its kind.
The 2015 release of Dalmore 30 Year Old is limited to 888 bottles. Aged in oloroso-sherry butts, this has notes of Christmas cake, coffee, honey and spice.

Behold, the seventh batch of Balvenie Tun 1509! A hugely popular series of expressions from the distillery, named after the tun in which the whisky is married for three months before bottling up. This particular edition was made using whisky drawn from 21 hand-picked casks, including ten sherry butts, seven sherry hogsheads and four American oak barrels. Following its marrying period, it was bottled up at 52.4% ABV.

David Stewart’s new and larger plaything following the success of marrying tun 1401, Tun 1509 is now providing its third release! For this batch he selected 12 Sherry butts with vintages varying from 1989 to 1992, 11 American oak hogsheads filled in 1989 and 8 refill American oak butts from 1992 and 1993. These were married for several months. Included with this bottle is a sheet with graphical representations of the flavour profile of the whisky from each of 31 casks used!

The follow-up to the distillery’s incredibly popular Tun 1401 series, Tun 1509 is made with a bigger marrying tun and continues to be absolutely fantastic. For the second batch, they used 32 casks – 23 American oak casks and 9 European oak Sherry casks, and allowed to marry for a few months before being bottled at 50.3% ABV. 8500 bottles were produced in total.
