A 2013 Ben Nevis single malt from independent bottler Signatory Vintage that was matured in a pair of hogsheads for eight years, before being bottled in November 2021 as part of its Un-Chillfiltered Collection.
Distilled at Ben Nevis in July 2013, this single malt spent the next eight years resting in a trio of hogsheads. In April 2022, the gang at Signatory deemed it good and ready for bottling, so they did just that, releasing this expression without any added colour, or chill-filtration, for the aptly named Un-Chillfiltered Collection.

From a single 1st Fill Cask, number 15059, that previously contained Oloroso Sherry, this unpeated Single Cask has notes of cherry and banana with components of dark chocolate, dried apricot and creamy vanilla. A whisky that was distilled on July 14, 1997 and bottled on January 17, 2022 with only 665 numbered bottles. A real treasure that has rested for 24 years in the distillery’s cellar.

The use of wood-rich Highland peat results in a sweet, smoky profile, and this expression is crafted with a balance of Benriach’s peated and unpeated spirit. Initially matured in bourbon barrels, the whisky is then transferred to bespoke quarter casks. The smaller cask size ensures greater interaction between the whisky and the oak, resulting in rewardingly rich layers of fruit, vanilla, and mellow wood smoke. This change in direction is a return to Black Bottle’s past, as it is said to have been inspired by what the whisky was like when it was made all the way back in 1879. This has also inspired the new old-style black glass bottle, which gave the whisky its name.

We have is a very experimental Scotch Whisky. As far as we know, this from Black Bottle is the first to have whisky matured in virgin Andean oak casks as part of its blend. The variety is unique to Colombia and Panamá and is regarded for its ability to thrive at altitudes that others cannot. Andean oak imparts a similar character to American oak, but with more tannins and spice. It was chosen in this case to elevate the creamy, smooth grain whiskies of the blend, by finishing them for seven months in Andean oak casks with various toast and char levels.

This is the second in this famous trilogy 43 Year Old ‘White Bowmore’ was distilled on the 5th November, 1964, and bottled in 2008. This is the second in a limited edition trilogy to be released by Bowmore. Only 732 bottles were released in total.
White Bowmore has been gradually maturing in six bourbon casks in the distillery’s famous No 1 vaults since 1964; they have now been bottled as a coveted collector’s item for whisky connoisseurs throughout the world. An extraordinary melange of pure tropical fruit character with venerable oak and maritime notes.
This limited edition White Bowmore offers up a beautiful array of tropical fruits and eloquent salinity. The final and oldest in their Trilogy series, aged 44 years from 1964 to 2008. Combining bourbon and Oloroso Sherry casks, gives a nose of citrus and tropical fruit, with a hint of warm smoke. The palate is wonderfully smooth leading to sweet honey, vanilla and warm oak. Dried fruit comes to the fire towards the end. The finish brings soft toasted oak and roasted almonds.

Ian Somerhalder and Paul Wesley weren’t just co-stars in the hit TV-show The Vampire Diaries. They are best friends in real life, sharing a passion for bourbon. Brother’s Bond is a story 10 years in the making that resulted in the Brother’s Bond Straight Bourbon being released in 2021. Having taken a hands-on approach, it really is the result of a long friendship: everything from the mash and the taste profile down to the label is the pair’s work. A good cause is involved as well, as 1% of the sales goes towards supporting renewable farming practices.
The four grains (65% corn, 22% rye, wheat, and barley) are sourced from American farms and crushed using a hammer mill. The grains are then cooked with limestone-filtered glacier water from an aquifer that helps with neutralizing acidity in the sour mash. After the mash is cooled, it’s time for 3 days of fermentation using a proprietary yeast strain.
The distillation then takes place in a copper column still, after which the white dog whiskey enters American white oak barrels at 120 proof. The #4 char barrel staves and #2 char barrel heads ensure that the bourbon slowly achieves the desired profile. Finally, it’s blended into the smooth, complex, and balanced high-rye straight bourbon that is bottled at 80 proof.
Crafted with 65% corn, 22% rye, wheat, and barley, this high-rye sour-mash straight bourbon is the product of the enduring friendship between Vampire Diaries co-stars Ian Somerhalder and Paul Wesley. Sharing a bourbon obsession, they have created this a smooth, complex, and balanced spirit.

Peat fans, hold on to your hats, as here comes another Octomore from the Bruichladdich distillery on Islay! The Octomore 07.1 is a 5 year old single malt Scotch whisky, which has been peated to 208 PPM and bottled at 59.5% ABV. The Octomore expressions are always a treat and this one is as complex and intense as ever, while still maintaining a sense of poise and elegance. Oh, and peat. Plenty of yummy, smoky peat.
This limited edition release of the world’s most heavily peated whisky uses barley malted to a whopping 208ppm. Octomore 7.1 was released in 2015 and was the final expression turned out during Jim McEwen’s tenure at the distillery.

Bruichladdich Octomore 7.4 Virgin Oak Islay single malt Scotch whisky. Matured in premium French oak and American oak casks. Distilled using Scottish mainland barley with a peating level of 167ppm. Bottled January 2016. Limited release of 12,000 bottles.
Distilled from barley peated to 167ppm (phenol parts per million) and matured in Virgin Oak – a first for the Bruichladdich brand – the Octomore 7.4 combines the smoky character of Octomore with sweet honey and vanilla notes from the casks.The nose has powerful smoke tempered by sweet rich oak and dried fruit, buttery toast, vanilla, pine needles and green apples with a dusting of cinnamon. The palate is sweet with peat smoke and toasted oak, before coconut, lemon peel, caramel and sweet orange come through. The finish is long and lingering with vanilla and honeysuckle fading into the smoke.
