In 1898, a dozen years after the Grant family had established Glenfiddich Distillery, William Grant first began to sell blended whisky. By 1903 William had appointed Charles Gordon as sales director, and, with help from William’s third son, another Charles, the pair set up a duty-paid warehouse in Glasgow. Gordon famously had to make 181 calls before he sold his first case, but the Grant’s brand eventually came to establish itself both at home and abroad. Still owned by independent family distilling company William Grant & Sons, Grant’s is now the world’s fourth-best-selling blended Scotch brand and is sold in over 180 countries globally.

In 1957 the recognisable triangular bottle was designed by Hans Shleger, a refugee from Nazi Germany, and over time features such as the embossed Grant coat-of-arms were included. In 2018, Grant’s underwent a radical new rebrand which also saw the introduction of four new core expressions, which replaced existing releases such as Grant’s Family Reserve. You can find out more about that in this exciting blog!
