Château des Laurets and its adjoining land covers two appellations; Puisseguin and Montagne. Barons is the top wine of the property, and cultivates a selection of plots, harvested and sorted by hand, to produce a blend with all the care that goes into the finest wines. After acquiring Château des Laurets in 2003, Baron Benjamin de Rothschild wanted to highlight the unique character of this estate by producing a limited vintage from a selection of the best Merlot plots. A niche wine, produced only in the best years, Château des Laurets Baron bears the mark of the great Saint‑Emilion wines. The extremely fresh nose expresses intense black fruit. Hints of cedar mingle with the aroma of Morello cherries. The elegant palate possesses a bold character with sophisticated velvety tannins and notes of liquorice. The finish is long and persistent. While the freshness of this young wine is very pleasant, it also promises an excellent cellaring potential.
