Glenfiddich 18 Years Old The Valley of the Deer 70cl, 40%
One of the best releases from one the best selling distilleries in the world. This one litre bottling allows the drinker to savour the subtle complexities of this dram even longer.
Produced by Speyside giants Glenfiddich, this whisky sits close to the top of their standard range, and enjoys a superb reputation with both drinkers and critics alike.
Matured in a mixture of former Bourbon American white oak barrels and Oloroso sherry casks, both of which are reassembled onsite by Glenfiddich’s high skilled coopers, this whisky possesses fabulous balance.
After 18 years of maturation, the effects of the cask are highly apparent on the palate, with both rich vanilla from the Bourbon barrels and dried fruit and spices from the Oloroso cask. Nevertheless, the spirit maintains the classic apple, pear and warm malt flavours that have come to be the trademark of Glenfiddich.
The whisky is bottled in modern rendition of Glenfiddich’s classic triangular bottle shape. With a soft mouthfeel and excellent complexity, this would make a great luxury option of any fans of this mighty distillery.

Bowmore Legend (70cl, 40%)
Bowmore Legend is the NAS entry-level expression of the distillery, age between 8 to 10 years on North American Oak casks which previously contained Bourbon. A young, rather gentle Bowmore. Whilst not massively complex or full-bodied, Legend is still a great value for money malt.

Laphroaig 10 Year Old Cask Strength Batch 016 Bot.2022 (70cl, 58.5%)
Our Original Cask Strength is the purest way to experience the taste created by the land, sea and air of Islay. Aged 10 years, it’s barrier-filtered from the cask to remove unwanted char particles – and that’s all that comes between you and the real Laphroaig.
We don’t chill-filter our Original Cask Strength, and we don’t reduce its natural strength. So, what you pour is what we draw from the barrel — the heart of charred seasoned oak barrels, our blue peat smoke and nutty barley, in a truly natural experience.
Batch 16 is our most powerful expression within the Cask Strength family, characterised by a 58.5% proof point and notes of vanilla and sea salt intermingled with hints of freshly ground black pepper and pork crackling. A dram poured neat will fill the nose with aromas of sweet apples and caramelised pastry, underpinned with a tang of cereal and tanned leather notes. The finish, a mixture of gentle spice, charred oak and smoked mackerel with an oily mouthful.
Lagavulin 8 Year Old Gift Set Saveurs D’écosse (70cl, 48%)
Originally launched as a limited edition to make the distillery’s 200th anniversary, the Lagavulin 8 Years Old was so successful that it had to be added the permanent range. In this gift box, the bottle is joined by two tasting glasses. What a great gift idea!
Glenfiddich Master’s Edition Sherry Cask Finish (70cl, 43%)
Glenfiddich’s Malt Master Brian Kinsman was the first to double-mature a Glenfiddich whisky in two different casks (although shorter finishing periods in more than one kind of casks has of course been done several times before). This whisky has been matured for some time in traditional oak casks before finishing its maturation in sherry casks.

Macallan 25 Year Old Anniversary Malt
A stunning example of Macallan 25 year old.
For many years The Macallan released their 25 year old whiskies as ‘Anniversary Malts’, in some cases they carried a distillation vintage and in other cases they did not. This particular Anniervsary Malt carries no distillation vintage.
This fantastic 25 year old sherry-oak-matured Macallan was bottled as part of the highly acclaimed Anniversary Malt series.
This rare phenomenon is in excellent condition and comes complete with original wooden presentation case.

Singleton of Dufftown Malt Master’s Selection 70cl, 40%
A bottling of Singleton whisky that’s a perfect introduction for those that are new to single malts, the Singleton of Dufftown Malt Master’s Selection was created by The Singleton master of malts Craig Wilson. He hand-selected and blended the whisky before it was maturated in European and American oak casks with three variants; ex-wine, ex-sherry and ex-bourbon.
Irish Reserve 26 Year Old (70cl, 40%)
A 26 Year Old Irish single malt whiskey specially produced for Aldi.
Another day, another long-aged Aldi single malt. An Irish whiskey this time, and once again I’ve elbowed my way past the natural Malt correspondent to chip in with my tuppence worth first.
26years, in Irish whiskey terms, is ages. A quick scroll through any of the obvious channels will yield hundreds of scotch whiskies of that age or older, but properly mature Irish is much thinner on the ground.
It’s brilliant to see Aldi move beyond Scotland when putting together their rare whisk(e)y offering for this year. Makes one hope that their gaze might turn upon the USA – or even Canada – in 2018.

GlenAllachie 18 Year Old New Release (70cl, 46%)
A glorious single malt from GlenAllachie, produced under the watchful eye of its legendary Master Distiller Billy Walker! With fifty years in the blending biz, Billy certainly knows how to select and marry the best casks, and this 18-year-old expression is a superb testament to that talent. Casks were selected from across the distillery’s 16 warehouses, some of which date back to the 1970s. Impressive stuff as ever with all those classic notes of nutty toffee, robust malt, and honeyed fruit that GlenAllachie does so well, plus, this is the shiny new bottle design, launched in 2024.
GlenAllachie 15 Year Old Sherry Cask New Release (70cl, 46%)
Originally added to the GlenAllachie core range in 2019, this 15-year-old single malt underwent a redesign in 2024. The whisky was treated to a finishing period in sherry casks before bottling. The casks in question were a combination of puncheons and hogsheads that previously held Pedro Ximénez and oloroso sherry. Master distiller Billy Walker described this expression as having an “exceptional balance of the distillery’s spirit and the influence of the sherry casks used during maturation.” We’d have to agree.
GlenAllachie 12 Year Old New Release (70cl, 46%)
The flagship in GlenAllachie’s new core range, released in July 2018. Matured in a mixture of virgin oak, oloroso sherry and Pedro Ximénez sherry casks, this has sweet flavours of honey, marzipan, bananas and butterscotch.
Prior to 2017, when the distillery was acquired by master distiller Billy Walker, GlenAllachie whisky was most commonly found in blends.
