The Glenlivet distillery is a distillery near Ballindalloch in Moray, Scotland that produces single malt Scotch whisky. It is the oldest legal distillery in the parish of Glenlivet, and the production place of the Scottish whisky of the same name. It was founded in 1824 and has operated almost continuously since. The distillery remained open throughout the Great Depression and its only closure came during World War II. The Glenlivet distillery has grown in the post-war period to become one of the biggest single malt distilleries in order to keep up with global demand; The Glenlivet brand is the biggest selling single malt whisky in the United States and the second biggest selling single malt brand globally.

This whisky has been called a lot of things in its time: smooth, fruity, complex, sophisticated, entertaining, classic. The Original Malt Whisky Almanac says: “A first-class malt. The mineral-rich water that comes from Josie’s Well helps form the flavours during mashing and fermentation, whilst the specific height and width of the copper stills add a delicate yet complex character. The story of The Glenlivet is an interesting one. Master Distiller’s Reserve is matured in three different types of wood which gives this expression its unique flavour. Traditional oak casks complement the classic style of The Glenlivet: ripe pear and gentle summer notes. American oak provides depth with creamy notes of coconut and soft fudge. First fill ex-sherry oak imparts dried fruit flavours and spice aromas which offer a deeper complexity and richness.

The Glenlivet First Fill American Oak is a 13-year-old Scotch whisky that has matured for at least 13 years in American Oak oak barrels. This time maturing has given the whisky fantastic multilayered, complex notes of fresh, notes of orange, pear, chocolate, and vanilla.
The Glenlivet White Oak Reserve single malt scotch whisky contains high proportion of First Fill American White Oak cases impart the sweet velvety notes to this triple cask whisky.

The Speyside single malt Scotch has a high proportion of whisky drawn from first-fill American white oak casks. It’s easy going, and just as good sipped neat as it is in a Highball.

The Nàdurra range uses traditional 19th-century production methods to create inventive and original whiskies. This version is matured in first-fill Oloroso sherry oak casks from the Spanish region of Perez. The sherry-soaked wood introduces the rich, sultry flavours of dried fruit and warm spice. Nàdurra Oloroso, like all expressions in the range, is bottled and released in small batches, and, unlike most modern whiskies, is non-chill filtered so has all the body you would expect from a whisky that has been drawn straight from the cask. It’s a bright, vivacious gold liquid, with aromas of dried fruit and spice. To drink, it’s smooth and creamy with chocolate and marmalade. This is a divine example of what happens when you bring together Spanish passion and Speyside tradition. This whisky is all about using traditions to achieve modern brilliance. The Nàdurra Oloroso is also bottled at 48% for Travel Retail.
