Tomintoul Seiridh (70cl, 40%)

In stock
  • ( 0 Customer Review )

A limited-edition single malt from Tomintoul, Seiridh was matured in American oak ex-bourbon casks before being finished in first-fill oloroso sherry casks from Andalucia, Spain. Rich aromas of sultana, butterscotch and candied pecans fill the nose. The palate offers notes of sweet dried figs, Christmas cake and cedar spice, developing hints of chocolate-covered raisins, dried fruit and liquorice that linger in the finish.

Glenfiddich’s Malt Master Brian Kinsman was the first to double-mature a Glenfiddich whisky in two different casks (although shorter finishing periods in more than one kind of casks has of course been done several times before). This whisky has been matured for some time in traditional oak casks before finishing its maturation in sherry casks.

12 year old Aultmore single malt Scotch whisky, unveiled in 2014 for the Last Great Malts by Dewar’s. A refreshing dram, with plenty of vanilla, honey and citrus, alongside a touch of grassiness. It’s been quite a while since a distillery bottling of Aultmore has been released, so this is all rather exciting indeed.

We assume that this new no-age-statement peated Tomintoul must be similar to the Old Ballantruan but at a reduced strength. Either way, at this price it must be worth a punt for peatheads.
