Selected by Tiger’s Finest Selection in Taiwan, only 75 sets have been released. Matured in sherry octave casks and bottled in 2021 at cask strength, the set comprises the following:
The following lot is for a complete set of a collaboration between The National Choice and Taiwan’s Tiger’s Finest Selection. This is a set of seven whiskies which celebrates the rarest hand in the game of poker, The Royal Flush.
Each card in a Royal Flush is represented and the set also includes a Joker.
Each one of these seven whiskies has been aged in a single ex-Sherry octave before being bottled at cask strength in March 2021. Each bottle is limited to just 75.

Peat and sherry is a great combo, though sometimes it can be a bit like a shouting match between a foghorn and a washing machine full of pots and pans. Thankfully, this one shows off a welcome harmony between the two. It’s a marvellous variation of Seaweed & Aeons & Digging & Fire, featuring the same smoky 10 year old Islay single malt, though instead of just 25% of it being finished in sherry casks, the entirety of the whisky was finished in them. The powerfully peaty notes at its core are mellowed by just enough sherry sweetness, making for a superbly well-balanced flavour profile.

Back for a second batch, it’s a tremendously old spirit from Auld Alfords, independently bottled by That Boutique-y Spirits Company. This spirit is so old, in fact, that its ABV has dropped down to 35% during its 52-year maturation. Had it been bottled earlier, before the angels got such a greedy share, it would have been categorised as “whisky”, however, now it’s below the legal minimum 40% ABV, and resides in the category of “spirit“. The good news is, those Boutique-y folks know a great dram when they find one and recognised that this impressive spirit was too good to remain unbottled. Labelled “Too Late Bottled Vintage”, this is an intriguing, and flavoursome find for fans of well-aged whiskies and spirits.
Batch 2 is a release of 255 bottles.

Definitive single malt whisky maker, The Dalmore, is releasing a refined new single malt, The Dalmore 45, to add to its exceptional collection.
The Dalmore 45 has been hand crafted by Master Distiller Richard Paterson who has used some of the distillery’s rarest aged liquids to create what Richard himself has described as ‘flawless perfection’.
Initially matured in American white oak ex-bourbon casks, the liquid has then been transferred into two different Vintage Graham’s Port Colheita pipes dating from 1961 and 1963 to create layers of flavour, which are indulgent, smooth and complex.
For its final flourish the whisky was then married together in first fill American white oak ex-bourbon casks providing The Dalmore 45 with a truly unrivalled finish. The Dalmore’s use of multiple casks is a fitting example of the distillery’s commitment to exquisite cask curation, which focuses on sourcing and utilising only the best casks from the world’s finest bodegas and wineries.
Purposefully retained at 40% ABV, The Dalmore 45 features exquisite flavours of red berries, soft liquorice, crushed hazelnuts, bitter chocolate and Manuka honey. This is followed by the sweet flavours of sticky toffee pudding, Bramley apples and juicy dates to finish.
Richard Paterson commented: “By personally selecting the very finest American white oak ex-bourbon casks and Port Colheita Pipes from 1961 and 1963, I have been able to create a truly unique expression which is indulgent and smooth with a vibrant and lively flavour profile. It takes time, dedication and passion to create an expression like The Dalmore 45 and age has gracefully matured this distinguished spirit to make it one of The Dalmore’s greatest aged spirits. This is a very special whisky, which I would describe as flawless perfection.”

As such, An Oa is intended to show a more approachable side to Ardbeg single malt that’s as rounded as the Oa peninsular, without losing the characteristic distillery style. In the summer of 2017 this became the first addition to Ardbeg’s core range in over a decade.

A celebration of both old and new: Hine’s XO Antique Grande Champagne Cognac
Blended with eaux-de-vie exclusively from the premier cru, Grande Champagne, this Hine XO Antique Grande Champagne Cognac is innovation, a relic from the times of Georges Hine brought to life for the modern Cognac connoisseur. The recipe was developed in 1920 by Hine himself, and was relaunched in 2010 by the Cognac house as a single cru XO. The 40 different Grande Champagne eaux-de-vie have been aged for a minimum of 10 years in traditional French Limousin oak casks, a homage to Hine’s heritage and the Cognac house’s history of fine craftsmanship.
This traditional XO with a modern design is a celebration of both old and new, a new and exciting experience in the present that simultaneously pays its respects to the past. This elegant XO releases aromas of sweet vanilla, ripe green fruits with some delicate earthy tones punctuating the sweet and fruity notes, a perpetual play between fruit and oak.
On the palate, the warming sensation of spices only serves to enhance and lift the sweet and exotic vanilla, complemented by notes of hazelnut and quince. Accents of fig tart and blonde tobacco also present themselves on the palate in a long and lingering finish. This XO may not boast a typical flavor profile for a Grande Champagne blend, but it certainly proves why this region is considered the premier cru with its complexity and depth of character.

Together, Gordon Motion, Max McFarlane and John Ramsay chose and married three principal cask types, with the aim of exploring the influence of wood and cask seasoning. Liquid from first-fill sherry seasoned Spanish oak butts, first-fill sherry seasoned American oak casks and first-fill bourbon barrels and hogsheads, along with a small number of refill casks was bottled up at 45.1% ABV. The 2017 release of Dalmore 40 Year Old was aged in bourbon casks for around 30 years, then aged in oloroso-sherry butts for a further seven before being finished in first-fill bourbon barrels. The result is a whisky with notes of gingerbread, maple syrup, honey and brioche.
A 2017 bottling of Dalmore 40 Year Old, presented in a Baccarat decanter. This was initially aged in American oak bourbon barrels before being transferred over to Matusalem Oloroso Sherry butts for seven years, and then transferred into first-fill bourbon barrels. This release coincided with Master Distiller and all-around good egg Richard Paterson’s 50th year in the whisky industry.

Depth Charge Spiced Rum packs a big, powerful flavour profile, having been made with a fantastic base of Caribbean rum, a selection of tasty spices and generous helpings of lime and mandarin at its core. Every gram of the botanicals used to make this gin was sent into near-space (over 24km) and exposed to an air pressure of less than 1/100th of that at sea level! That’s seriously low. In fact, if you were to find yourself above just 18km, also known as Armstong’s limit (where the pressure has already dropped to around 6.3 kPa or 1/16th of that at sea level), then the fluids in your body would vaporise!
Juniper, Coriander, Camomile Flowers, Fresh Lemon Peel, Cardamom, Dried Bitter Orange Peel, Cinnamon, Cubeb Pepper, Liquorice Root and Angelica were used. Oh, and Moon Rock. Obviously. unusual release from Kilchoman, this isn’t a finish, instead it’s entirely matured in 300 litre Cognac casks which come from Tonellerie Bossuet. Kilchoman used a 50ppm heavily-peated new-make spirit, which then went into 32 300 litre French oak casks for a minimum of six years. The result was bottled at 50% ABV with no colour or chill-filtering.

Initially matured in 38 first-fill ex-bourbon barrels, it was then married in a pair of Portuguese red wine vats for two years before it was bottled. Something you don’t see everyday, an Islay single malt entirely aged in fino sherry casks. Kilchoman founder Anthony sourced 20 fino sherry butts from Bodega Jose y Miguel Martin in Jerez to mature his whisky in. This release spent a minimum of five years ageing before bottling in 2023 at 50% ABV. Fino, the lightest and freshest style of sherry, imparts quite different flavours to the more commonly seen oloroso or PX. So there will be no dried fruit or big spices here, thank you very much. Instead think of fresh apples, almonds and a salty note that perfectly compliments the smoky Kilchoman character.

The excellent Kilchoman Small Batch Release is a limited edition whisky that uses the finest casks available for maturation. This exclusive small batch release includes some whiskies matured in ex-bourbon, ex-sherry and STR casks.
STR casks are an innovation not found in many distilleries and were created by the late Jim Swan. The abbreviation stands for ‘shaved, toasted and recharred’.
Each cask previously contained red wine, and to tame some of the overpowering red wine flavours, the casks are shaved on the inside to expose the active wood. This is then toasted to break down the harder oak elements such as cellulose. The barrel is then charred to create an active charring layer that improves the interaction with the maturing spirit.
The bottles were bottled at 48,7 % alcohol and no chill filtration or colouring was used in the production process. The whisky is presented in a gift box.

Wilson & Morgan was founded in Italy in 1992 by Fabio Rossi, the son of prolific importer Mario Rossi Jr, who began distributing Scotch whisky back in the 1960s. His son’s company was one of a new generation of Italian bottlers established in the 1990s, which aimed to replicate the successes of predecessors like Samaroli and Moon Import.
This is a blend of 1980 vintage malt and grain whiskies, aged in sherry wood and bottled as 35 year old in 2015.

We have is a very experimental Scotch Whisky. As far as we know, this from Black Bottle is the first to have whisky matured in virgin Andean oak casks as part of its blend. The variety is unique to Colombia and Panamá and is regarded for its ability to thrive at altitudes that others cannot. Andean oak imparts a similar character to American oak, but with more tannins and spice. It was chosen in this case to elevate the creamy, smooth grain whiskies of the blend, by finishing them for seven months in Andean oak casks with various toast and char levels.

Angus Dundee 30 Years is a gold colored whiskey from Scotland. This variant is a composition of various grain and malt whiskeys that have been allowed to mature in white oak barrels for at least thirty years. Because a number of these whiskeys are no longer available, this variant of Angus Dundee is also limited . It offers a very rich and soft aroma full of spice and light notes of citrus. Its palate is smooth, creamy and full of notes of vanilla that slowly contract with the sweet malted barley leaning towards honey . A wave of fruity sweetness takes you to its finish that is full of sweet notes and a spicy finish. Angus Dundee 30 Years has an alcohol percentage of 40%.
