The Bottled-in-Bond bottle first became available in the Summer of 2018 and is limited to select duty free stores around the world. Although it is only sold at select locations, this bottle was advertised as a “permanent line extension in the Jack Daniel’s Family of Brands.”
Created to honor its commitment to quality and pay tribute to the Bottled-in-Bond Act of 1897, this bottle met all of the parameters outlined in 1897 which stated that the whiskey had to be aged at least 4 years and bottled at 100 proof at one distillery during a single season.

For him, that meant filtering his whiskey drop by drop through a three-meter-thick layer of charcoal from the sugar maple. Seven generations later, the whiskey is still filtered the same way Jack did back then. The reason: Filtering gives it a distinctive mildness that has come to be expected from Jack Daniel’s. Charcoal mellowing makes Jack Daniel’s what it is: not a bourbon, but a Tennessee whiskey. This process refines the full flavor of the whiskey, even before it is fully aged in barrels, of Jack Daniel’s own manufacture. A laborious process that requires special attention and makes the production of the whiskey a little more expensive. However, any other process would not have met with Jack’s approval. Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey commemorated its 155th anniversary in 2021 with a special limited edition design for its iconic Black Label Old No. 7 brand. Pentagram updated the label with a swirl of typography and images celebrating the theme, “155 Years of Good Music.”
Designed by a team led by Paula Scher, the limited edition Jack Daniels label makes exceptional use of typography to communicate Jack Daniels’ ties to enjoying music. Scher’s unmistakable style shines through but doesn’t stray too far from the iconic black and white label of label no. 7. Signatures such as “Every Drop Made In Lynchburg, Tennesse” and references to awards no. 7, including the iconic bottle shape.
Jack Daniel ‘s Tennessee Whiskey No. 7 in the limited 2021 edition is a beautifully decorated whiskey whose label was designed by the successful designer Paula Scher . With this edition, Jack Daniels honors the long connection between whiskey and good music. It is filtered through a very thick layer of charcoal, as tradition dictates for a Tennessee whiskey. The whiskey is then matured in handcrafted oak barrels. There is no fixed maturing time here, it is only bottled when the Jack Daniels Master Distiller approves the product after a tasting. We offer the 0.7 liter bottle with 43% vol.

A bold, boisterous expression from Jack Daniel’s Bonded Series, which also includes Triple Mash, this is what’s known as a Bottled-in-Bond whiskey. That means it can only be distilled by a single distiller during one distillation season. You can also only age it in a government-bonded warehouse for at least four years, and bottle it at 50% ABV.

For Jack’s 160th birthday in 2010, the Distillery took the commonly used Heritage bottle, and with a few modifications, made a bottle unlike any before it. No longer clear glass, this bottle was painted black by Chattanooga Labeling Systems. The idea came from Michael Osborne Design, which also devised the black label for the bottle and the box in which it came. While the 750ml size is quite common, the 1 liter version of this bottle was only released in a limited number of states.
This limited edition bottle of the classic Old No.7 Brand was released to mark what would have been Jack’s 160th birthday in 2010.

Launched in 1988, Gentleman Jack was the first new permanent product from the Tennessee distillery for many years. The whiskey is unusual in that it goes through Jack Daniel’s charcoal mellowing process twice, once before and once after barrelling, creating a softer and cleaner expression.
This is what is commonly referred to as the “third generation” packaging. The labels remained similar to that of the second release, however the bottle shape was squashed, giving a shorter, wider style. The third generation spans 1999 to 2006, when the familair flat bottle was introduced

In its 4th and final year, the 2014 Holiday Select bottle was once again released at the Distillery in December with a signing taking place on December 6th. While this bottle came in a nice sturdy black box like all of the others before it, this year’s box had an opening in the front which displayed the bottle proudly. Once again, each bottle this year was filled with whiskey from the barrels used to make the annual Christmas Barrel Tree. This year’s bottle was filled with 96 proof whiskey, a slight drop from the 98 proof available in 2013.
An annual holiday treat from Jack Daniel’s, their Holiday Select Tennessee Whiskey is matured in casks which end up creating their Christmas Barrel Tree at the distillery in Lynchburg. The 2014 edition is the first with Master Distiller Jeff Arnett choosing the barrels.
A limited edition Jack Daniel’s released for the Festive season of 2014. This was the fourth and final small batch version of the annual Holiday Select release, and as usual the whiskey was drawn from the same barrels used to build the distillery’s Christmas Barrel Tree that year.
Later editions of the Holiday Select were single barrel bottlings.

As a whiskey maker and a barrel maker, we see the barrel not simply as a container but as an ingredient. This unique whiskey began with a hand-crafted barrel that matured Jack Daniel’s. Described as Old No. 7 whiskey with the heat and spice of a red hot cinnamon liqueur, Tennessee Fire was the second flavored whiskey Jack Daniel’s released in a 3 year period, with Tennessee Honey in 2011 being the first.
Offered at 70 proof and in a variety of sizes, this whiskey first became available in April of 2014. This was considered a test launch with bottles only being sold in Tennessee, Oregon, and Pennsylvania. In October of 2014, five more States began receiving distribution of Tennessee Fire and by March of 2015 it was available in all 50 States.
