Emblazoned upon this bottling is the rune meaning thurs, which meant “thorn” to some, while to others it meant “giant”. This limited edition expression shows off a bourbon-cask-lead flavour profile, with a whisper of Sherry sneaking in later on..

Similar to Batch No.128, this was matured in half-sized, first-fill bourbon barrel, but in contrast to previous release, Batch No.270 was made with unpeated spirit, giving all those yummy vanilla-y elements from the small casks centre stage. 6,000 bottles were produced.

Launched in late 2008 to replace the previous 12 year old, this single malt from the Dalmore distillery is a toasty, coffee-rich dram with beautifully spice notes and a thick mouthfeel. Very rich for a 12 year old.

Glenmorangie have kicked off their Bond House No.1 series of vintage expressions with an absolutely stonking 1990 vintage single malt! This terrific tipple was distilled right when everyone realised that the year 2000 might actually happen, and left to age in a combination of ex-bourbon and ex-Sherry casks for quarter of a century before being bottled at 43% ABV. The distillers in the Highlands figured that a whisky as smashing as this needed a rather handsome bottle too, which is always a treat.
In his Whisky Bible 2017, Jim Murray gave this a massive 94 points (earning a Liquid Gold Award), and also took home a Double Gold Medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition 2017!
