Initially a travel retail exclusive, this whisky has been aged in first-fill American oak former Bourbon casks, which showcases Pulteney’s classic North Highland maritime style.
The spirit has enjoyed a 12 year maturation, developing a good level of complexity and depth. Old Pulteney 2006 offers up notes of vanilla, subtle spice, sea spray, oak, hay, pears, apples, malt, a little chopped herb, slight earth, flowers, mint, cream and some exotic fruit notes (pineapple, mango).
The dram is bottled at 46% ABV and without chill filtration or artificial colouration, ensuring a richness of flavour and mouthfeel.

The limited-edition Scotch you see here is Royal Lochnagar 12 Year Old, a Highland stalwart from a distillery that was said to be a favourite of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert, and is conveniently situated close to Balmoral Castle. Combined with its proximity to Cairngorms National Park, an area that contains one quarter of Scotland’s native forest and plenty of deer, it’s little wonder that it was paired with House Baratheon, a house with plenty of royal connections and whose sigil features a rampant stag.

The single malt was aged in American oak bourbon casks which had also previously held peated whisky, imparting a subtle smokiness. The whisky endeavours to celebrate all things Speyside, and has been made using fresh spring water from the Granty Burn. The one litre bottle was released for the Travel Retail market.
