The nose has a wide range of aromas, from citrus fruits to pears and a hint of peat, while the palate shows touches of smoke, vanilla essence, nutmeg, cinnamon and the salty tang characteristic of the distillery. Picked up the top prize in its category at the World Whiskies Awards 2014.

The Springbank Distillery in Campbeltown has once again bottle up a cracking cask strength edition of its 12 year old single malt. This time, they’ve used 50% bourbon casks and 50% sherry casks to build the expression, and it has been bottled up at 55.4% ABV. A dozen years of maturation has done this one very well indeed, as it packs plenty of Springbank’s familiar deliciousness, with a wealth of fudge and dried fruit notes.
