A blended whiskey (or blended whisky) is the product of blending different types of whiskeys and sometimes also neutral grain spirits, colorings, and flavorings. It is generally the product of mixing one or more higher-quality straight or single malt whiskey with less expensive spirits and other ingredients. This typically allows for a lower priced finished product, although expensive “premium” varieties also exist.
Some examples of blended whiskey include Canadian Mist, Jameson Irish Whiskey, Seagram’s Seven, Kessler Whiskey, the premium Japanese brand Hibiki, and the various Scotch whisky blends sold under the Johnnie Walker brand.

This is an incredible 38 year old blended whisky from Chivas, named for the Stone of Destiny – a block of red sandstone used in the coronations of the monarchs of Scotland and later the monarchs of the United Kingdom.
A very special 38 year old Royal Salute from Chivas, Stone of Destiny is named after the ancient stone used for British Royal Coronation ceremonies for centuries, symbolising the approval for the incoming monarch.
The Stone of Destiny, after much intrigue and dark shenanigans, is now back in Scotland.
The Royal Salute 29 Year Old Pedro Ximénez Sherry Cask Finish edition pays tribute to Queen Elizabeth II’s first official visit to Spain in 1988. The Royal Salute 32 Year Old Union of the Crowns is unfortunately a limited release from Chivas Brothers, because this blended Scotch makes one heck of an interesting dram. This unique edition, launched originally for the Travel Retail market, salutes (ahem) the moment King James VI fused three kingdoms to create the modern British Monarchy in 1603.
A truly special blend, whisky from distilleries long-since closed like Caperdonich and Lochside are combined with distinctive offerings chosen to balance a complex taste; such as the fruity character of Glen Keith, the creamy texture of Longmorn; the sweet notes of Tormore and the rich qualities of Braeval.

A ceramic decanter from Royal Doulton containing 75cl of Famous Grouse blended Scotch whisky. We estimate this was produced in the 1980s. The single malt whiskies used in The Famous Grouse blend include the Edrington-owned Highland Park and The Macallan. Its emblem is the Red Grouse, Scotland’s national game bird.
