A terrific small-batch bourbon from Four Roses – and in this case, Small Batch means just that – only four casks are used in the construction of each release. Sweet and spicy, with a generous dash of vanilla, this is a treat.
Rebel Straight Rye Whiskey 70cl, 45%
This rebellious small batch straight rye offers a smooth, spicy, rye flavour with enough backbone to stand up to the classics.
At 90 proof with a mash bill of 51% rye, 45% corn and 4% malt, expect a spicy nose that opens up into rich yet unpretentious rye flavour, balanced by hints of vanilla that’ll keep you on your toes.
It may be a straight rye, but there’s nothing ordinary about it. This full-bodied whiskey’s got backbone with a bold rye flavor and solid mix of sweet and spice.

Yellow Rose Rye American Whiskey (70cl, 45%)
Rye from Yellow Rose over in Houston, Texas, which is in fact Houston’s very first legal whiskey distillery. Made with 95% rye and bottled at 45% ABV, we reckon this could be a very strong contender for a Rye Old Fashioned.
Old Overholt 3 Year Old Straight Rye Whiskey 1L, 40%
A classic straight rye whiskey, Old Overholt is matured for three years before bottling, and offers notes of vanilla, rye spice and rich oak.
Wild Turkey Longbranch (1L, 43%)
A full-bodied and balanced bourbon, at once fresh, sweet and smoky, with a rich and rounded mouthfeel, Longbranch is a collaborative effort between Wild Turkey Master Distiller Eddie Russell and the brand’s Creative Director – award-winning actor Matthew McConaughey.
Longbranch has been refined using charcoal from both Kentucky white oak and Texan mesquite in a nod to both mens’ home states, and the bottle bears the signatures of both Russell and McConaughey in a nod to the spirit in which this bourbon was made – that of friendship and partnership.
Woodford Reserve Kentucky Straight Rye (70cl, 45.2%)
Woodford Reserve’s Kentucky Straight Rye whiskey has made it to our shores! Produced using a mash-bill of 53% rye, this rye shows off its spice up front and balances it well with notes of fresh fruit (think pear and cherry), chopped mint and a sweet touch of honey. Presented at 45.2% ABV.
Woodford Reserve Kentucky Bourbon (70cl, 43.2%)
The mashbill for Woodford Reserve features a high percentage of rye: 72% corn, 18% rye and 10% malt. Unusual also for being triple distilled and having the lowest proof upon entering the barrel where it matures for at least six years. A must have Kentucky bourbon. Templeton Rye 4 Year Old (70cl, 40%)
Templeton Rye whiskey is a spirit unlike any other an unmistakable rye whiskey. Templeton Rye is smooth and spicy with a clean finish. Originally made in Templeton, Iowa during the prohibition era as a way for farmers to supplement their income.
Thanks to its smooth finish, the American rye whiskey earned the nickname ‘The Good Stuff’.
Sazerac Straight Rye (70cl, 45%)
Sazerac Straight Rye is named for the Sazerac Coffee House in New Orleans, birthplace of the famous – and sublime – Sazerac cocktail. The Coffee House was acquired by Thomas H Handy, owner also of Peychaud’s Bitters. Originally, he sold bottles of the Sazerac cocktail, which was originally made with Cognac. Today, this glorious libation is produced at the Buffalo Trace distillery.
Woodford Reserve Kentucky Straight Wheat batch 0002 70cl, 45.2%
The Woodford Reserve team has gone and made its very own wheat whiskey! If you like your whiskeys to be wonderfully creamy with a good helping of fruity sweetness to them, you’ve come to the right place. This expression is made with a mash bill of 52% wheat, 20% malt, 20% corn and 8% rye, leading to a satisfying flavour profile that should do well sipped neat or in cocktails.

Bulleit Bourbon has become a firm favourite – and now you can sample it after it’s spent a decade in oak, too! The mash bill comprises 68% corn, 28% rye and 4% malted barley for a rich balance of creaminess and spice.
Basil Hayden’s Bourbon (1L, 40%)
Basil Hayden’s Bourbon dates back to 1796, when master distiller Basil Hayden used a traditional corn base, but mixed in small grains with the mash. A Kentucky straight bourbon with plenty of rye at its core – plenty spicy, well balanced with herbal notes of peppermint and a touch of fruit.
Elijah Craig Small Batch Bourbon (70cl, 47%)
Elijah Craig has long been a favourite bourbon of many whiskey enthusiasts – to the point where their stocks of 12 year old bourbon have been under a lot of pressure. The producers made the decision to discontinue the 12 Year Old expression and create this expression to take its place. It manages to maintain the incredibly high quality that Elijah Craig is known for, including the delicious core of cooked apple drizzled in honey notes. This expression has been well received, taking home not one but two San Francisco World Spirits Competition Double Gold medals!

Knob Creek Rye (70cl, 50%)
The long-awaited UK release of Knob Creek Rye. Not as spicy as many ryes, this is a great in-between release, sitting between a high-rye bourbon and a pure rye to give the best of both worlds.
Cedar Ridge Rye Whiskey 70cl, 43%
Here is a rye whiskey from a distillery I am not at all familiar with. The Cedar Ridge Rye has a mashbill of 51 % malted rye, 34 % unmalted rye, 12 % corn, and 3 % malted barley.
The Cedar Ridge Distillery is located in Swisher, Iowa.
