The Macallan A Night On Earth – Jerez is another impressive limited edition bottling from the ‘A Night On Earth’ series which this time brings us to the homeland of sherry itself: Jerez de la Frontera. The Macallan has a long tradition of creating sherry cask-aged whisky so it was really only a matter of time before it released a single malt Scotch whisky that championed this vital connection. The Macallan A Night on Earth Jerez was aged in sherry-seasoned American and European oak casks and celebrates New Year’s Eve in Jerez, or Nocheviejo, a night full of meaning and tradition. It was bottled with natural colour at 43% ABV.

This has been chosen by the Whisky Maker Polly Logan as the optimum strength to reveal a dominant sweetness and the well balanced flavours of this whisky. To truly appreciate the complex flavour dimensions, pour and allow it to breathe for 10-15 minutes for an intensified experience. The expression perfectly combines sweet lightness brought by these casks with depth and complexity from The Macallan’s renowned sherry seasoned American oak casks, to uncover a new, uniquely heightened flavour experience.
The 2021-release of Macallan Classic Cut has been matured in a combination of ex-bourbon casks and American oak ex-sherry casks, creating a fruity, gingery character. Aromas of orange zest, fresh vanilla, ginger and marzipan fill the nose, complemented by notes of fresh oak, gingerbread, vanilla custard, cinnamon and ginger throughout the palate.
