Aultmore 10 Year Old Oloroso Cask Finish Darkness (50cl, 53.8%)
We do love a well sherried Aultmore, and this one makes an excellent addition to the collection from indie bottler Darkness! Matured for 10 years, the whisky was finished in a custom-made octave cask that previously held oloroso sherry. It’s a hugely characterful sipper, brimming with oily nuts, dried fruit, roasted coffee, and biscuity malt.
Aberlour 6 Year Old Pedro Ximénez Cask Finish Darkness (50cl, 49%)
Another delicious six-year-old Aberlour single malt joins the Darkness range, and this one was drawn from a custom-made octave cask that previously held Pedro Ximénez sherry. Prepare for rich layers of floral honey, nutty malt, and creamy chocolate here.
Jura 7 Year Old Moscatel Cask Finish Darkness (50cl, 52.3%)
Seven-year-old Jura single malt, finished in a custom-made Moscatel octave cask before it was independently bottled to join the Darkness collection. Fragrant peat smoke rides throughout, backed by heaps of sweet clove and chewy spice.
Craigellachie 12 Year Old Oloroso Cask Finish Darkness (50cl, 62%)
Hailing from the Craigellachie distillery, this single malt spent a dozen years maturing, including a finish in an oloroso sherry octave cask. Octave casks are smaller, thus allowing more interaction between whisky and wood for the time that they are full. They’re the cask of choice for Darkness, ensuring the intensely sherried character for which its range is renowned.
Dailuaine 12 Year Old Palo Cortado Cask Finish Darkness (50cl, 57.2%)
This Dailuaine single malt joins the Darkness range, after finishing its 12-year maturation in a custom-made palo cortado sherry octave. It boasts a brilliant balance of oily malt, sweet dried fruits, and savoury malt.

Croftengea 11 Year Old Batch 5 That Boutique-y Whisky Company (50cl, 47.8%)
The Loch Lomond distillery is famed for its unique and varied still setup, which enables it to produce a vast array of different whisky styles. But is all of that just a cover for the fact that it’s actually run by a bunch of wizards? The folks at That Boutique-y Whisky Company certainly suspect so. A smoky spell must have been cast when making this one, it’s a peated Croftengea single malt that spent 11 years maturing in a refill bourbon hogshead.

Emperor’s Way 4 Year Old That Boutique-y Whisky Company (50cl, 54.4%)
This single malt hails from the Hammerschmiede distillery in Germany. Boutique-y Whisky regulars will be familiar with the distillery’s Elsburn single malt, but here we have something different – Emperor’s Way is the name given to its peated, smoky expressions! Rather unusually, local German peat was used during malting, and the whisky was matured in an extremely rare first-fill Japanese mizunara oak cask. A cracking find from That Boutique-y Whisky Company, and just the thing to join its World of Smoke collection.

Adnams 8 Year Old That Boutique-y Whisky Company (50cl, 50.5%)
English single malt from Adnams, initially matured in second-fill French oak, it finished its eight-year maturation in an Islay whisky cask. The sweet, fruity malt has adopted characterful layers of smouldering peat from the cask, making it a perfect fit for That Boutique-y Whisky Company’s World of Smoke series!

Inchfad 15 Year Old That Boutique-y Whisky Company (50cl, 53.5%)
More whisky wizardry from Loch Lomond, magic is the only feasible way the distillery can produce such an impressive array of different styles of whisky… right?! That’s what the gang at That Boutique-y Whisky Company reckons anyway. This is a 15-year-old Inchfad, a heavily peated single malt, married from a bourbon barrel and a Pedro Ximénez hogshead.

Nc’nean 5 Year Old That Boutique-y Whisky Company (50cl, 60.1%)
Cask strength organic single malt from Nc’nean here, distilled using 100% renewable energy, and independently bottled by That Boutique-y Whisky Company for its Cinema Series. The whisky matured for five years in a shaved, toasted, and re-charred red wine cask before it was bottled at a robust 60.1% ABV.

Glorious layers of oily malt and hearty spice cushion elegant whispers of smoke that rest comfortably beneath, a most impressive dram.

A big, bold single malt from Speyside, independently bottled by That Boutique-y Whisky Company. This beast hails from an undisclosed distillery, and finished its nine-year maturation in a sherry butt, before being bottled at cask strength.

Mackmyra 9 Year Old That Boutique-y Whisky Company (50cl, 46.8%)
This single malt from Sweden’s Mackmyra distillery was treated to a rather intriguing cask finish, ending its nine-year maturation in a cask seasoned with Hojicha Green Tea! Unlike traditional Japanese green teas, Hojicha is roasted after the leaves are steamed. Along with removing all bitterness, the roasting process gives Hojicha its signature earthy aroma, its reddish-brown color, and its unique smoky taste. Subtle notes of earthen spice compliment fresh, tropical layers of fruit and vanilla here, and it makes a splendid addition to the Cinema Series from That Boutique-y Whisky Company.

Glenrothes 25 Year Old That Boutique-y Whisky Company (50cl, 50%)
Cask strength single malt from Glenrothes, matured for a whole 25 years in a single cask before it was bottled up by That Boutique-y Whisky Company. The complex malt produced at this Speyside stalwart is well suited to long ageing, so prepare for a treat here, with layers of creamy vanilla, honeyed nuts, elegant spice, and caramel.

Glen Garioch 33 Year Old That Boutique-y Whisky Company (50cl, 46.2%)
The Glen Garioch distillery may well be Scotland’s first licensed distillery. Varying dates are given as to the founding of the distillery, but all are predated by an article in the Aberdeen Journal on the 1st December 1785, which announced the first distillation of spirit at the site. This is OLD SCHOOL Glen Garioch, distilled in 1988, from when the distillery was floor malting their own malt, and using Highland peat. Bottled by That Boutique-y Whisky Company for its Cinema Series.

That Boutique-y Whisky Company has bottled up another brilliant batch of whiskey from its pals at Illinois-based FEW distillery, and this one joins the indie bottler’s Cinema Series. This four-year-old straight rye whiskey was treated to a finish in a cask that previously held rye whisky from Finland’s Kyrö distillery – double the fun for rye fans!

Plenty of vanilla and sweet caramel notes to be found here in this litre bottle of The Glenlivet Triple Cask Matured White Oak Reserve. The Speyside single malt Scotch has a high proportion of whisky drawn from first-fill American white oak casks. It’s easy going, and just as good sipped neat as it is in a Highball.
The high proportion of first fill American white oak casks impart the sweet velvety notes to this triple cask whisky.
