The ancestral home of House Tully, Riverrun, sits at the junction of the Red Fork of the Trident and the Tumblestone River. The ruling Lord of the Riverlands, House Tully embodies the power and ferocity of the rivers it sits between. Using the power found in their positioning, House Tully forged strong alliances and built a history of honour, family and duty. Built along the banks of the River Fiddich, Glendullan Distillery originally relied on the waters it lay beside, using a water wheel to power the entire distillery. Like the Tullys themselves, this single malt can benefit from a splash of water, opening up flavours of green apple, honey and sweet vanilla.

The whiskies are then harmonised in toasted American oak casks, in what the team dub the ‘Trinity Cask Harmony’ process. In the heart of Russia’s ultra-fertile black earth region, we grow the wheat on a single estate and, transform these treasured grains into the highest grade of raw spirit. This Alpha spirit is filtered through shungite, a rare carbon found only in northwest Russia. Shungite has hollow spherical molecules, allowing it to absorb every impurity without disrupting the mineral balance.
Our evolving vodka is then filtered through coils of gold thread. Valued for millennia for its warmth and lustre, gold as a filter for vodka subtly amplifies the depth, enhances the softness and harmonizes the emerging liquid.

It’s not a flavour combination that jumps to mind right away, but strawberries and balsamic vinegar is an absolutely astounding pairing that we don’t think gets nearly enough love. That Boutique-y Gin Company clearly agree and have proffered their own way to put the flavour combo in front of everybody’s eyes – by making Strawberry & Balsamico Gin! They have used a classically-styled base gin and given it the addition of fresh strawberries, strawberry and black pepper distillates and Aceto di Balsamico tradizionale di Modena DOP, which is aged between 12 and 25 years in casks made from chestnut, cherry, oak, mulberry, ash and juniper.
Stronachie was the name of a Highland distillery active between the 1890s and 1928. The Scottish agents for the whisky, A.D. Rattray, have launched a range using whisky from Benrinnes distillery. This is the 10 year old – sweet and spicy.

This is the original release of Suntory Royal, bottled to commemorate the company’s 60th anniversary in 1959.
Originally released in the 1960’s to celebrate Suntory’s 60th anniversary, this bottle was produced much more recently Distilled and Vatted at Yamazaki Distillery.
Suntory are one of the founding fathers of Japanese whisky, established by ShinjirĹŤ Torii in 1899 as a wine store in Osaka. The venture was hugely successful, and the company was renamed Kotobukiya in 1921, which built its first distillery three years later, Yamazaki. The distillery produced both malt and grain whiskies which the company blended together, releasing its first Suntory White Label in 1929, the resulting popularity of which saw the firm renamed after it 1963. Expansion in the next decade saw the company move its grain production to a new Chita distillery in 1972, and open a second malt distillery, Hakushu, the following year. Suntory today has a large stake in both the bourbon and Scotch whisky industry, but remains at the forefront of its native whisky market too.

One of the Japanese whisky giants, Kotobukiya, or as we know them today; Suntory. The company was founded by Shinjiro Torii in 1899, first as an importer of Western wines and liquor. As he progressed within the business, he decided to build Japan’s first distillery despite protests from company directors. This is where Masataka Taketsuru comes into the picture. He was hired as a distillery executive at Yamazaki on the outskirts of Kyoto. He later left the company to found his own. Suntory developed Japan’s interest with whisky by opening Torys bars throughout the country and introducing ways to drink and enjoy the spirit. Now they produce numerous ranges including Yamazaki, Hibiki, and Hakushu.
Blended whisky Suntory Royal was launched in the 1960 to mark the company’s 60th anniversary. This 15-year-old bottling is light and soft with notes of toffee, ginger and spice and is a great introduction to the world of Japanese whisky.

A blended whisky from Suntory’s three distilleries: Yamazaki, Hakushu and Chita. Toki has a different composition to another Suntory blend, Hibiki, as its main components are Hakashu single malt and Chita grain whisky. It should work really well in a highball.
Fun fact: ‘Toki’ means ‘time’ in Japanese.
Originating in Ireland and Scotland, whisky later migrated to the New World. It evolved history and culture, which dictate a whisky’s personality, unique to Canada and the United States.
