Description

Springbank 10 Year Old Local Barley 70cl, 51.6% is a limited Campbeltown single malt from one of Scotland’s most admired traditional distilleries. The Local Barley series is built around barley grown in or around Campbeltown, giving each release a strong sense of place and a more distinctive grain-to-glass identity.

This 10 year old release was made using Belgravia barley grown at Glencraigs Farm, distilled in May 2011 and bottled in December 2021. It was matured in 100% bourbon casks, giving the whisky a bright, creamy and cereal-led style with vanilla, custard, barley water and soft fruit notes.

What makes this bottle especially desirable is the combination of Springbank’s cult reputation, the Local Barley identity and the limited outturn. With only 15,000 bottles produced, it has strong appeal for collectors who look for authentic Campbeltown whisky with clear production details and original presentation packaging.

Springbank 10 Year Old Local Barley 70cl, 51.6% stands out because it offers more than the standard Springbank experience. The local Belgravia barley, Glencraigs Farm origin, bourbon cask maturation and limited release status all give it a very specific identity.

Collector’s Note

Springbank 10 Year Old Local Barley 70cl, 51.6% has excellent collector appeal because the Local Barley series changes from release to release. Different farms, barley varieties and cask recipes make each bottling distinct, which is why collectors often look for individual vintages rather than treating the series as one repeated expression.

This 51.6% release is especially attractive because it combines a clear farm and barley identity with full bourbon cask maturation. The 15,000-bottle outturn gives it a confirmed limited status, while the Springbank name and Campbeltown provenance make it a serious bottle for both drinking and collecting.
