Highland Park 25yo is a terrifically complex, rich, woody, sherried dram. It seems as if this release will be the last at cask strength as the company is running low on stocks, so don’t tarry too long if you want one of these.

Meticulously crafted over its 21 years, this whisky is put through a combination of hand-selected American oak and ex-sherry casks, which impart the distinctive flavour of dried fruits and a bold richness, vibrant intensity and long finish. Each cask is hand-selected and individually nosed and approved, and every batch has its own special nuances, making it a rare and unique liquid indeed. Aromas are beautifully melted, resonant with dried fruit from the sherry cask, but with spicy hints of cinnamon and ginger. Coloured enticingly of rich amber, with shimmering shades of copper, the finish of this prestigious expression is long and warm.

Glenlivet 25 Year Old XXV (70cl, 43%)

Using some of the rarest of our whiskies, all of which have been aged for at least 25 years, this is a batch-produced whisky finished in ex-sherry butts. Our team of experts individually select each cask and monitor the whisky in its finishing process to make sure the Oloroso-soaked wood adds the subtlest sherry tones to an intense, silky and elegant whisky. This molten amber liquid is nearly as splendid to hold in your hand as it is to drink. Afterwards, the finish is incredibly long, rich and balanced. But it’s the nose on the 25 Year Old that really drives whisky-lovers to distraction – with scents of bittersweet dark chocolate and plump, sweet sultana. This opulent whisky, the oldest expression in The Glenlivet’s core range, is a sublime choice to mark special occasions.

Nàdurra is the purest expression of The Glenlivet. Crafted using traditional 19th century methods (small batch production, non chill-filtered) which, research shows, appeals to the Malt Whisky Connoisseur. Nàdurra Oloroso is a new extension to the range, and it is matured exclusively in highly prized Oloroso Sherry casks. The casks impart flavours of dried fruit and warm spices to the whisky.

Glenlivet Nàdurra First Fill (1L, 48%)

In 2004, The Glenlivet launched Nàdurra: a non chill-filtered single malt whisky that stayed true to the style of spirit enjoyed in the 19th century. In 2014 a new range of Nàdurra was ready to be shared and enjoyed. The range comprises of three new expressions, each named after the wood that has imparted the greatest influence during the maturation process. Nadurra First Fill is drawn from casks made from American White Oak, which have never before been used to mature Scotch whisky. These oak casks, a popular choice of distillers at The Glenlivet since the early 1900s, impart hints of creamy vanilla to this wonderfully rich single malt whisky.

Glenlivet Nàdurra Peated Whisky Cask Finish (1L, 48%)

Our latest expression in the Nàdurra family boldly draws its inspiration from The Glenlivet’s historic whisky-making traditions in which peat smoke was used to dry the malted barley, lending a smoky flavour to the whisky. Unlike its two siblings, the Nàdurra Peated Whisky is finished in casks that previously held heavily peated Scotch whisky, giving a gently smoky twist to the classic, smooth and fruity house style that The Glenlivet is known for.

Here, we have something unique. A limited release of 3,350 bottles of pure mystery and intrigue. The label says “from The Glenlivet Distillery”, and on release that’s all anybody knew. No tasting notes. No cask details. Nothing.

Over the weeks following the release, the mystery was slowly unravelled through a variety of online sensory challenges on The Glenlivet website and Facebook pages. Master Distiller Alan Winchester also interacted with the online community, fielding questions and pointing people in the right direction…

Glenlivet 1983 Cellar Collection (70cl, 46%)

In stock
  • ( 0 Customer Review )

Distilled at The Glenlivet in 1983 and aged in French Limousin casks before it was bottled in 2003.

A frequently-overlooked bottle in Glenlivet’s Cellar Collection, perhaps as it remains one of the youngest of the series (even at 20 years old). This is sterling stuff, nonetheless, described by Jim Murray as ‘sophistication and attitude rolled into one’. With the finish adding nuance rather than dominating the palate, this is a minor classic of the genre.

The Glenfiddich Age of Discovery range is released just to the travel retail market until 2012 when the 19 year Old Madeira Cask was released to to the UK retail market to great excitement and applause. However this meant that Glenfiddich needed a new Age of Discovery bottling to replace the excellent Madeira cask, so here we have it – the Bourbon cask a fantastic follow-up that delivers as strongly as its older brother.

In homage to the intrepid Portuguese voyagers who went on to change our understanding of the new world, we created

Glenfiddich’s first ever 19 Year Old single malt Scotch whisky.

Finished in fine, aged Madeira wine casks from an independent island winery dating back to 1850 we named this expression, Glenfiddich Age of Discovery.

An earthy, bright whisky with a warmth that fades to long sweetness. The first time we’ve used Madeira casks for incredible, rich depth.

Glenfiddich 125th Anniversary Edition (70cl, 43%)

  • ( 0 Customer Review )

In honour of 125 years of whisky production, Glenfiddich released this limited edition single malt Scotch whisky in 2012. For this expression, the chaps at Glenfiddich have used a combination of peated and unpeated whiskies aged in a large proportion of Spanish ex-Sherry butts, as well as American ex-bourbon casks. It was presented alongside a copper stopper, a leaflet giving some background on the release and a handsome presentation case. What better way to celebrate 125 years of Glenfiddich whisky than with more of it?

The whisky is beautifully presented, with a copper cork, metal box and information leaflet. A peated Glenfiddich is not something you see everyday, and in the 5 years since this whisky was released, it has become increasingly rare, so “Fiddich fans should move fast if they want to sample this tremendous dram!

Balvenie 17 Year Old DoubleWood (70cl, 43%)

This 17 year old expression from the Balvenie distillery furthers the concept of their hugely popular 12 year old DoubleWood. “DoubleWood” refers to a consecutive maturation in two different types of casks, also referred to as a “finish”. Exactly like its younger brother, this 17 year old single malt spent the first many years of its maturation in American ex-bourbon barrels, before being transferred to European oak ex-sherry casks. While the initial maturation adds qualities of deeply sweet vanilla, the sherry casks adds dried fruits, and a rich spiciness. The end result is a strikingly complex and delicious whisky, sure to impress even the most seasoned aficionado.
