Linkwood 11 Year Old 2014 The Octave (Duncan Taylor) Personal Collection #2 70cl, 54%
Visiting to Duncan Taylor at Huntly: Selecting and Bottling Our Second Whisky.
Some bottles are chosen. Others are earned.
This is our second bottling, and it comes from a moment we won’t forget.
During our visit to Duncan Taylor, we tasted our way through many remarkable casks each with its own story, each with its own voice. But one cask stopped us in our tracks.
A Linkwood, matured in an Octave cask, bold yet beautifully balanced. Rich, expressive, and full of character. We went back to it again and again and every time, it confirmed what we already knew: this was the one.
Bottled at 54%, natural and uncompromising, this whisky delivers depth, intensity, and elegance in every sip. Just 84 bottles were ever produced, making it as rare as the moment that led us to choose it.
This isn’t just a whisky.
It’s the memory of a tasting room, shared excitement, careful deliberation, and the thrill of discovery.
Our second bottling.
Our chosen cask. A Linkwood worth waiting for.

Tasting Notes by CrossroadCava & Whiskyonlinecy Team
Linkwood 11 Year Old Octave Cask | 54%
Nose:
Rich and inviting from the first pour. Stewed orchard fruits, baked apple and pear, followed by dark honey, toffee, and soft vanilla. Subtle notes of dried fruits, toasted oak, and gentle spice develop with time.
Palate:
Full-bodied and expressive. Waves of caramel, sultanas, and milk chocolate lead the way, balanced by warming cinnamon, nutmeg, and a touch of clove. The Octave cask influence is clear — concentrated, bold, yet beautifully controlled.
Finish:
Long, warming, and satisfying. Lingering notes of dried fruit, oak spice, and a gentle sweetness that slowly fades, leaving a refined and memorable impression.
With Water:
A few drops open up more sweetness and fruit, revealing hints of citrus peel, vanilla cream, and soft malt.
