A limited-edition nine-year-old single malt form Glenallachie that was distilled in 2012 and initially matured in ex-bourbon barrels, before a secondary maturation in European oak wine barriques from Languedoc and Valpolicella, as well as two Premier Cru Classé chateaux in Bordeaux. Aromas of orange blossom, Maraschino cherries, espresso, honeysuckle, hazelnuts, lavender, cinnamon and peaches fill the nose, complemented by notes of dark chocolate, redcurrants, sugared almonds, burnt coffee beans, orange zest, ginger, liquorice and blackberries throughout the palate and lingering in the finish.

The whisky itself is a rich and luxurious medley of flavour, and Erik Madigan Heck used natural light to capture this depth of character in his still life. The reflective surface enhances the idea of flavours blending– almost as if seamlessly merging together as one – with the soft focus echoing the long-lasting taste experience.
The whisky’s golden acorn natural colour is the focal point of the shot. Its rich tone and translucent glow has influenced the colour palette of the piece as a whole, with the soft caramels and browns and pops of red and green once more showcasing the depth of its flavour profile.

Benriach’s Smoky Quarter Cask celebrates the distillery’s use of peat, which began in the 1970s, harking back to whisky production of old, while breaking the conventional style of whisky from the Speyside region. The use of wood-rich Highland peat results in a sweet, smoky profile, and this expression is crafted with a balance of Benriach’s peated and unpeated spirit. Initially matured in bourbon barrels, the whisky is then transferred to bespoke quarter casks. The smaller cask size ensures greater interaction between the whisky and the oak, resulting in rewardingly rich layers of fruit, vanilla, and mellow wood smoke. Distilled by Glenfiddich, this release forms part of their Experimental Series. This expression is the fifth release in the range and is a collaboration with the Somerset Cider Brandy company. It been finished in Somerset Pomona spirit casks, which is a blend of cider brandy and apple juice, and bottled at a strength of 43% abv.
Orchard Experiment is the fifth release in Glenfiddich Distillery’s Experimental Series and is the world’s first single malt to be finished in Somerset Pomona casks. The palate is bright and fruity, with notes of crunchy apples, vanilla, oaky spice and caramel that linger in the finish.
A tremendous addition to the Experimental Series from Glenfiddich, combining the influences of Scotland and Somerset! This single malt has been finished in casks that previously held Somerset Pomona Spirit (a blend of apple cider brandy and apple juice) from the Somerset Cider Brandy Co.! This experiment came about after Glenfiddich’s Malt Master Brian Kinsman paid a visit to the Somerset Cider Brandy Co. to meet with its Master Distiller Matilda Temperley. After a stroll around the vintage orchards, the idea was born, the casks were sent from Somerset to Scotland and filled with a core of delicious malt, before being left to ripen. Top stuff for sipping on a warm evening, perhaps after a nice glass of cider.

A beautiful, extremely limited edition Macallan released for travel retail, Oscuro is made with whisky from 1987 and 1997 and it’s sherried and incredibly rich.
This is the 2015 redesign of the packaging, now presented in the premium decanter style bottle first used for the Macallan Reflexion.
Dark, lusciously rich and satisfying. The Macallan Oscuro is drawn exclusively from oak casks seasoned with Oloroso Sherry. An exceptionally high proportion of these are first fill, which endow the whisky with a rich, deep Burnished copper colour and intense flavour. When the casks are at the peak of maturation, the whisky is gently reduced to 46.5% alcohol by volume with natural spring water drawn from boreholes deep under The Macallan Estate. It is then matured in slumbering casks for at least six months, allowing the flavours to blend. It undergoes no further strength reduction and is filtered non-chill at ambient room temperature before being bottled.

In celebration of Master Distiller Billy Walker’s half-century long career in the whisky industry, we are delighted to unveil the second in The Past, Present and Future Series: The GlenAllachie 50th Anniversary Present Edition.
This rare expression illustrates Billy’s present, where he is avidly implementing an incredibly innovative cask management policy. After initial maturation in PX and Oloroso Sherry casks, the spirit enjoyed secondary aging in specially selected Mizunara casks, a very scarce and expensive species of Japanese oak. Notoriously difficult to cooper and prone to leaking, these casks are rarely used for whisky maturation. Although posing difficulties, their porous nature lends to the spirit sinking deeper into the wood, imparting complex notes of sandalwood and cinnamon.
Presented at 48%, with no added colour or chill filtration for maximum flavour.
Limited release of 2,900 bottles worldwide.

The final release in the Billy Walker 50th Anniversary collection from Glenallachie, this young, feisty single malt represents Billy’s future endeavours. Made with Speyside peat from St Fergus and matured in a combination of ex-bourbon, ex-rye whiskey and virgin oak casks for four years, it was bottled in August 2022 and marks the first single malt that Billy has overseen from start to finish since he became master distiller in 2017. Aromas of toasted honeycomb, dried fruits, hazelnuts, dark chocolate, smouldering oak and cinnamon apples fill the nose, complemented by notes of stewed pears, toasted almonds, heather honey, vanilla toffee, smoked barley and ripe apples throughout the palate.
The third and final installment of GlenAllachie’s Past, Present and Future Series, celebrating master distiller Billy Walker’s 50 year career in the whisky industry! Gelenfarclas 105 Cask Strength doesn’t carry an age statement, but there are any suggestions that it is matured for 8-10 years in a combination of both ex-sherry an ex-bourbon barrels. Drying and rich it makes for a superb dram, one the Malt Maniacs rated as the best „Bang for your buck“ whisky in 2004. It is an excellent whisky with aromas of spices, citrus fruits and oloroso sherry. It introduces a world of flavours and make a fiery and strong experience.
Glenfarclas 105 is a superb cask strength whisky, with a history that can be traced to 1968. When the original incarnation was released that year, Glenfarclas became the first distillery to release a barrel proof single malt whisky.
The bottling was eventually re-named to 105, referring to its alcohol content in British Proof, which equates now to 60% ABV.
The 105 doesn’t carry an age statement presently, making it rare among Glenfarclas bottlings. Although, there are suggestions that it is matured for 8-10 years in a combination of both ex-sherry and ex-bourbon barrels.
Drying, assertive and richly spiced, the 105 makes for a superb dram, one the Malt Maniacs rated as the best “Bang for your buck” whisky in 2004. Add a drop of water if you please to explore its depth – and don’t be put off by that ABV, there’s plenty of flavour here to enjoy.

The Week Of Peat story begins with distillery manager Ian Millar’s eagle eye spotting a weeks gap in the distillery schedule. Eager to experiment with The Balvenie profile using what he had learnt from a recent trip to Islay, he ordered a batch of Speyside peat for the kiln and built a peat burner on the side “for, well, extra peatiness”. The whisky produced is rich in honey, vanilla and citrus notes with an extra layer of delicate smoke.
The Balvenie Distillery is built on age-old traditions and stories which are passed on from one generation of craftsmen to the next. The Balvenie Stories are a range of exclusive single malt whiskies, each representing tales of character, endeavour and craft.

Matured for 27 years, this single malt spent its final seven years finishing in ex-Caroni rum casks, which ought to be pretty exciting for fans of the long-closed Trinidadian distillery. We all know how well Balvenie’s whisky does in a rum cask, and these rare barrels found their way to the distillery thanks to a meeting between its head distiller David Stewart and John Barrett of legendary rum bottler, Bristol Spirits.
