Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey commemorated its 155th anniversary in 2021 with a special limited edition design for its iconic Black Label Old No. 7 brand. Pentagram updated the label with a swirl of typography and images celebrating the theme, “155 Years of Good Music.”
Designed by a team led by Paula Scher, the limited edition Jack Daniels label makes exceptional use of typography to communicate Jack Daniels’ ties to enjoying music. Scher’s unmistakable style shines through but doesn’t stray too far from the iconic black and white label of label no. 7. Signatures such as “Every Drop Made In Lynchburg, Tennesse” and references to awards no. 7, including the iconic bottle shape.
Jack Daniel ‘s Tennessee Whiskey No. 7 in the limited 2021 edition is a beautifully decorated whiskey whose label was designed by the successful designer Paula Scher . With this edition, Jack Daniels honors the long connection between whiskey and good music. It is filtered through a very thick layer of charcoal, as tradition dictates for a Tennessee whiskey. The whiskey is then matured in handcrafted oak barrels. There is no fixed maturing time here, it is only bottled when the Jack Daniels Master Distiller approves the product after a tasting. We offer the 0.7 liter bottle with 43% vol.

We are pleased to release the limited edition Red Dog SaloonTM , commemorating the days when you could buy a drink of Jack’s smooth sippin’ Tennessee Whiskey in the town where it was made. Like every drop of Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey, this limited edition is distilled right here in Lynchburg, just as it was when Mr. Jack opened his saloon back in 1892. Next in the series, the 3rd bottle shifts focus to life outside the Distillery in the town square of Lynchburg, only a short walk from the cave spring hollow. This bottle depicts people socializing in front of the Lynchburg Hardware & General Store which was built by Lem Motlow in 1912.

The 5th bottle shifts back to the Distillery with an image of the new statue that currently stands by the cave spring. Weighing 600 pounds, this bronze statue was erected in the year 2000, and as previously mentioned, replaced the older monument to Jack Daniel that is found on the Scene #1 bottle.

Only a few feet away from the statue depicted on the Scene #5 bottle, and the cave spring itself, is a building that used to be Jack’s personal office. His old rolltop desk was used for the image on the 6th Scenes from Lynchburg bottle and has been preserved over the years for visitors to see while touring the Distillery.

The piece of history honored in Scene #6 is in direct contrast to Scene #7, which pays tribute to a more recent addition. The Visitor Center depicted on this bottle was also opened in 2000, the same year the statues were changed. This new building is where all Distillery tours begin and where many historic artifacts from over the years can be viewed.
