Crafted from a harmonious combination of European and American oak casks, this expression was developed by Whisky Maker Polly Logan after a journey to Girona, where she immersed herself in the world of chocolate at Casa Cacao. Working in collaboration with Jordi Roca, she explored flavour profiles that could deliver indulgent chocolate character while still retaining The Macallan’s hallmark oak depth and balance.

The presentation is central to the identity of this release. In homage to its chocolate inspiration, the gift box is made using discarded cacao pod husks, giving a natural by-product of chocolate making a renewed purpose. This helps make Rich Cacao not only a distinctive whisky, but also an important early statement of The Harmony Collection’s packaging direction.
