Description
Longrow 2000 7 Year Old Gaja Barolo Finish 70cl, 55.8% is an older official Campbeltown single malt from Springbank Distillery’s Longrow range. Longrow is Springbank’s heavily peated, double-distilled style, and this release was distilled in October 2000, bottled in January 2008, and presented at cask strength in 70cl format.
What makes this bottle especially attractive is its distinctive maturation recipe. Reviewed specialist sources record that it spent around five and a half years in refill bourbon before a further eighteen months in fresh Gaja Barolo casks, giving it a richer, more vinous and more unusual profile than a standard early Longrow bottling.
Why Choose Longrow 2000 7 Year Old Gaja Barolo Finish 70cl, 55.8%
This bottle stands out because it combines a clear 2000 vintage, a 7 year age statement, cask-strength presentation, old official Longrow packaging and a very large but still fixed outturn of 12,120 bottles. The Gaja Barolo finish also gives it a much more individual identity than a routine peated Campbeltown release, especially within the early Wood Expressions period.
Ideal For.
This bottle is ideal for Longrow and Springbank followers looking for an older official bottling with vintage, age statement and original presentation.
It is ideal for drinkers who enjoy peated Campbeltown whisky with red-wine influence, citrus, spice and a more experimental old-school style.
It is also ideal for collectors who want an early Longrow wood expression with a confirmed bottle count and a clearly defined Gaja Barolo finish.

Collector’s Note
This bottle has strong collector appeal because it belongs to the earlier Wood Expressions era of Longrow and carries a very clear identity on paper: 2000 vintage, 2008 bottling, Gaja Barolo finish and 12,120 bottles. That gives it a more defined collector profile than a standard later official Longrow.
It is also attractive because Gaja Barolo is not a routine finishing choice in Scotch whisky, especially in older official Campbeltown bottlings. Within the wider Springbank family, that makes this a bottle with real shelf character for buyers who enjoy the more adventurous early finishing period.
