Named after the Forgue valley in Scotland in which this distillery is located, the bottling is said to “encapsulate the heritage and terroir of the Forgue”.
A heavily sherried whisky, this spirit has been aged in Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez Spanish oak for 10 years.
This dram serves up flavours of salted caramel, oily malt, crème brûlée, vanilla, thick dried fruit, baked apples, dark chocolate, cereal sweetness, nutmeg, cinnamon, sherry, ginger, honey, stewed tea, citrus peel, and a little old oak.
If sherried single malt is very much your thing, then Glendronach is a name you should get to know very well. The distillery resides in the Highlands, busily working away on some incredible expressions, with sherried malt sitting at the core of many of them. This particular dram, The GlenDronach 12 Year Old, is allowed to age in a combination of oloroso and Pedro Ximénez casks from Spain, resulting in generous helpings of dried fruit and cakey spice. Glendronach’s core range was treated to a smart new makeover in 2024, and doesn’t it look elegant?
This superb richly sherried single malt is matured for at least 12 years in a combination of the finest Spanish Pedro Ximenez and Oloroso sherry casks. Non-chill filtered, of natural colour and bottled at 43%, the GlenDronach 12 year old Original is a sweet, creamy dram.

The Glendronach 15 Year Old, matured 100% in sherry casks and bottled around 1990s, is a highly regarded Highland single malt.
An old bottling of the 15 year old sherry matured whisky from Glendronach. This is the old style big sherried 15 year old which the distillery’s new owners have taken as their inspiration and built upon.
Featuring the Glendronach 15 Year Old Sherry Cask from the 1990s, this single malt Scotch whisky is celebrated for its rich and complex flavors. A rare gem within the Glendronach collection, it’s a sought-after piece for collectors and connoisseurs looking to explore pre-takeover distillery characteristics.

A 21 year old Glendronach released in 2011, and aged in a mix of sherry casks (Oloroso and sweet Pedro Ximenez dessert sherry). The result is really very good indeed. Interestingly enough, this whisky has no political associations. It is, in fact, named “Parliament” after the collective term for a group of rooks – and there is a Parliament of Rooks living in the trees near GlenDronach…

Notice it is with No Box
This wonderfully sherried Highlander is the eighth batch of the Cask Strength series from the GlenDronach Distillery! It’s been matured in Spanish oak Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso sherry casks, before it was bottled at a warming 61% ABV. Very chocolatey, jammy stuff, great for an evening sipper.

As you may have guessed from the name of this expression, GlenDronach is going back in time with Traditionally Peated. More specifically, about 200 years back, to the year 1826 when the distillery was founded, and it was common practice in the Highlands to burn peat in the kiln towards the end of the barley malting. For the whisky, the distillery has kept its traditional sherried style, marrying liquid from a range of Pedro Ximénez, Oloroso sherry and Port casks, all bottled up at 48% ABV.
Tasting Notes
Colour: Golden amber
Nose: Aromas of honey, orchard fruit, vanilla, and soft spice
Palate: Rich and lively with flavours of apple, caramel, citrus peel, and gentle oak
Finish: Medium to long with warming spice and lingering sweetness.
Glenfarclas 10 Years Old is a superb combination of creamy roundness, malt biscuits, with floral notes and peat flavours. Light, delicate and velvety, this Speyside Single Malt is quite complex and satisfactory.
Gelenfarclas 105 Cask Strength doesn’t carry an age statement, but there are any suggestions that it is matured for 8-10 years in a combination of both ex-sherry an ex-bourbon barrels. Drying and rich it makes for a superb dram, one the Malt Maniacs rated as the best „Bang for your buck“ whisky in 2004. It is an excellent whisky with aromas of spices, citrus fruits and oloroso sherry. It introduces a world of flavours and make a fiery and strong experience.
Glenfarclas 105 is a superb cask strength whisky, with a history that can be traced to 1968. When the original incarnation was released that year, Glenfarclas became the first distillery to release a barrel proof single malt whisky.
The bottling was eventually re-named to 105, referring to its alcohol content in British Proof, which equates now to 60% ABV.
The 105 doesn’t carry an age statement presently, making it rare among Glenfarclas bottlings. Although, there are suggestions that it is matured for 8-10 years in a combination of both ex-sherry and ex-bourbon barrels.
Drying, assertive and richly spiced, the 105 makes for a superb dram, one the Malt Maniacs rated as the best “Bang for your buck” whisky in 2004. Add a drop of water if you please to explore its depth – and don’t be put off by that ABV, there’s plenty of flavour here to enjoy.

An all-time classic, Glenfarclas 25yo is the epitome of long-aged sherried Speyside, gorgeously smooth and silkily-textured, with rich, generous flavours of fruitcake, hazelnuts, dried fruit and a hint of dark chocolate and coffee. A thoroughly delightful dram.
Quite rightly seen as a benchmark for well aged Sherry Cask matured whisky. Most distilleries scaled back production in the 1970’s and 80’s, but the Grant family had the foresight to keep the stills running. As a result, they have access to some of the best stocks of old whisky in the business, and are able to offer them at jaw droppingly reasonable prices.
Superb single malt from the Glenfarclas distillery, aged for 30 years. Three decades of maturation have resulted in a fantastically full-bodied, satisfyingly Sherried and all-around awesome flavour profile. Now presented with a box designed as an homage to the unmistakable red door of the Glenfarclas warehouse.
The 2016 release of Glenfarclas 40 Year Old, presented in a box styled on the distillery’s warehouse doors. This is a classic sherried Glenfarclas, with notes of Christmas cake, dark chocolate and orange.
