Distilled in 2008, this 12-year-old Oban single malt has been matured in freshly-charred American oak casks, before being bottled as part of Diageo’s 2021 Special Releases. Aromas of crispy seaweed, flaky sea salt, black pepper, light smoke, chilli sauce and olive oil fill the nose. The palate offers notes of lemon, oak spice, garden herbs, salty sea air and oily pepper that linger in the finish.

Description
Tasting Note
Nose: Quite restrained, subtly maritime with distant smoke, seaweed and iodine.
Palate: Spicy as hell initially: really gets up your nose with Szechuan pepper and cloves, but then the spice fades and fruit and subtle vanilla notes come through.
Finish: Long and creamy with a note of custard.
