Highland Park Svein Warrior Series 1L, 40% is a discontinued Orkney single malt introduced in 2013 for the travel-retail market. It was the opening expression in Highland Park’s six-part Warrior Series, followed by Einar, Harald, Sigurd, Ragnvald and Thorfinn.

Named after Svein, the legendary Viking chieftain whose adventures feature prominently in the Orkneyinga Saga, the whisky was created to reflect his generous nature and fiery temperament. The complete collection explored how increasing proportions of sherry-seasoned European oak changed Highland Park’s character across the range.

Svein was matured predominantly in sherry-seasoned American oak casks, with approximately 30% first-fill casks and some European oak influence. Fresh pineapple and ripe orange lead towards crème brûlée, vanilla, cassia bark and gentle smoke, followed by a sweet, peppery and lightly oaked finish.
