This release brings together rare Mizunara oak barrels with Oloroso sherry puncheons and hogsheads, creating a whisky with both aromatic Japanese oak spice and rich sherry depth. GlenAllachie describes Mizunara as a rare Japanese oak that is difficult to work with because of its cost and tendency to leak, making its use in whisky maturation especially notable.

At 50%, it offers excellent body without becoming too heavy. The result is a rich and complex GlenAllachie with heather honey, dried orange peel, crystalised ginger, cocoa, vanilla, dark fruit, baking spice and nutty oak character. It is bottled at natural colour and non-chill filtered.
