The 17 Year Old Highlander was matured in a combo of sherry and bourbon casks, before the single malt was at 50.8% ABV. CompareNose: Sweet malt and orange peel, with freshly baked bread slathered in honey, supported by ginger biscuits.
Palate: A whole host of citrus, though bitter orange marmalade dominates, with lots of milk orange chocolate and a crack of black pepper keeps things lively.
Finish: Toasted brown sugar (if slightly burnt) with chocolate-covered ginger, and white pepper spice.
