Glen Deveron 28 Year Old Royal Burgh Collection (70cl, 40%)
A 28 Year old Glen Deveron release, produced at the Macduff Distillery in the Highlands, using some of their rarest whisky stocks. The distillery was originally acquired by William Lawson Distillers in 1972 and is now owned by John Dewar and Sons.
The Glen Deveron 28 Year Old is amongst the oldest expressions released to date from this coastal distillery, located on the banks of the River Deveron where it flows into the North Sea. Forming part of the Royal Burgh Collection, we have been very lucky to receive a small number of bottles at the Dewar’s Aberfeldy Distillery, which we are delighted to be able to share with you.
This is a very rich and opulent expression from the Macduff distillery, with a generous amount of the maturation taking place in former sherry casks, creating a fuller and fruiter taste. It is a rich, complex, and inviting dram.
The Glen Deveron 28 Years Old begins with notes of baked apple and plum pudding before developing with flavours of creamy toffee and toasted cereal, with a hint of coconut.
It is the perfect fireside malt, and we hope you enjoy it!
