Description
Edradour 22 Year Old 1999 Barolo Finish 70cl 55.2% is a rare and characterful Highland single malt Scotch whisky from one of Scotland’s smallest and most traditional distilleries. Distilled on 9 August 1999 and bottled on 26 August 2021, this 22-year-old release shows a mature and unusual side of Edradour through a finishing period in Barolo wine casks.
This expression was initially matured in ex-bourbon hogsheads for 13 years before being recasked into a pair of ex-Barolo wine hogsheads. That long secondary maturation gives Edradour’s naturally weighty spirit a richer and more vinous profile, with red fruit, spice, sweetness, and oak woven into the distillery’s traditional Highland character.
Bottled at its natural cask strength of 55.2% ABV, and presented without chill filtration or added colouring, this is a limited official distillery release with only 567 bottles produced from casks 830 and 832. It is an excellent bottle for drinkers who enjoy long-aged whisky with a distinctive wine-cask influence and strong collector appeal.

Collector’s Note
This bottling has strong collector appeal because it combines a 1999 vintage, a 22-year age statement, cask strength presentation, and a less common Barolo cask finish for Edradour. Long-aged official Edradour releases are already attractive to enthusiasts, and the Barolo influence makes this especially interesting for buyers who enjoy comparing the distillery’s classic profile with more unusual maturations. The comparison point is an inference based on the cask style and release profile.
