Description
Tasting Note
Nose: Bold and smoky. Classic Islay peat smoke mingles with rich sherry sweetness—dried cherries, dark berries, and figs. Notes of sea salt, brine, and coastal herbs intertwine with vanilla custard, toasted oak, and warm spices like cinnamon and clove.
Palate: Full-bodied and powerful. Layers of smoky peat, cherry kirsch, and rich dried fruits combine with caramel toffee, almond praline, and a gentle peppery spice. The maritime influence adds a salty edge, balanced by sweet malt and oak tannins.
Finish: Long, warming, and smoky. Lingering notes of peat smoke, sherry sweetness, dark fruits, and soft spice fade slowly, leaving a complex and satisfying finish.
Overall: A striking Islay malt that expertly balances intense peat smoke with rich sherry character. Cask strength delivers boldness and depth without losing elegance.
