For this expression, Balvenie Malt Master David C. Stewart MBE worked with Virgin American Oak casks that were toasted at the Kelvin Cooperage in Louisville, Kentucky. The whisky is first matured in traditional ex-bourbon barrels before being finished in these specially toasted virgin American oak casks.

The finishing process enhances the whisky with rich flavours of candied orange, coconut, vanilla, brown sugar, and sweet spice, while maintaining the classic Balvenie honeyed character.
