Bruichladdich Distillery is a distillery on the Rhinns of the isle of Islay in Scotland. The distillery produces mainly single malt Scotch whisky, but has also offered artisanal gin. It is owned by Rémy Cointreau and is one of eight working distilleries on the island.
The name Bruichladdich is an anglicisation of Bruthach a’ Chladaich, Scottish Gaelic for Brae of the Shore.

Bruichladdich Octomore 15.2 5 Year Old Barley Cognac and Wine Casks (70cl, 57.9%)
This Octomore was peated to 108.2ppm, distilled from Scottish barley, and matured in a combination of American oak, red wine, and ex-cognac casks. A whisky with elegance and intrigue in equal measure, you can expect notes of rye bread, roasted coffee, and a thick, almost buttery texture, leading to toffee, cracked black pepper, and peat – lots of peat.

Bruichladdich Octomore 13.2 5 Year Old (70cl, 58.3%)
The 13.2 edition of Octomore from Bruichladdich follows on from the 13.1, in that it’s made from 100% Scottish barley malted to a hefty 137.3 PPM, however the 13.2 edition of this superbly smoky single malt Scotch has enjoyed its five year ageing period entirely in first fill oloroso sherry butts, bringing waves of fruit and sweetness to the expressive Islay character.
Bruichladdich Octomore 12.2 5 Year Old The Impossible Equation (70cl, 57.3%)
A bold, peaty single malt from experimental Islay distillery Bruichladdich’s Octomore series, Edition 12.2 has been matured initially in a combination of first and second-fill ex-American whiskey casks and finished in first-fill French oak Sauternes casks for 18 months. The palate offers notes of melon, white peach, honeysuckle and coconut, all wrapped in notes of phenolic malt and savoury peat smoke.

Bruichladdich Octomore 13.3 5 Year Old Islay Barley (70cl, 61.1%)
Octomore 13.3 from Bruichladdich is made entirely from single source barley, grown on Islay, harvested in 2015 and peated to 129.3 PPM. This single malt Scotch was distilled in 2016 and aged for five years in a combination of first fill European oak casks from Rivesaltes in France and Ribera del Duero in Spain, along with first fill American whiskey barrels. As with all the Octomore editions, this is non-chill filtered, and free of added colour.

Bruichladdich Octomore 11.3 Dialogos 5 Year Old Islay Barley (70cl, 61.7%)
It’s Bruichladdich’s Octomore 11.3 expression right here, folks! This particular edition was made with barley grown on Islay by James Brown at the Octomore Farm, which is exposed to the coastal breeze of the Atlantic Ocean. After distillation, it was allowed to matured for five years in first-fill American whiskey casks, including ones from Jim Beam, Heaven Hill, Buffalo Track and Jack Daniel’s. As ever for the Octomore series, this is a heavily peated stuff, weighing in at a hefty 194 PPM.

7.3 is the second edition of ‘Octomore from Octomore, made using barley grown on the eponymous farm. Distilled in 2010 and peated to 169ppm, this was aged in a combination of bourbon barrels and red wine casks from Ribera del Duero in Spain. Big and bold, yet also elegant with notes of oranges, honey, cinnamon and clove.

Edition 14.1 of Bruichladdich’s Octomore series was made with barley grown on the Scottish mainland and malted to 128.ppm creating a heavily peated single malt. This whisky was matured for five years in first-fill ex-American whiskey casks, imparting aromas of smoked caramel, roasted almonds and barbecue pork on the nose, with bright citrus notes, smoked heather and ground coffee on the palate.
