This release is the first in a yearly limited edition series celebrating The Glenlivet’s past, each boasting new flavours and designs. The 12 Year Old Illicit Still itself is non-chill filtered and in keeping with drinks of old; has a higher than average ABV of 48%. You can enjoy it immediately, add it to your collection, save for the most special occasions or age it decades further as a collector’s item to sell down the track.

The 20 chosen whiskies were then married by Malt Master Brian Kinsman to create this single malt you see before your eyes. Hooray for teamwork!

A limited-edition single malt from Tomintoul, Seiridh was matured in American oak ex-bourbon casks before being finished in first-fill oloroso sherry casks from Andalucia, Spain. Rich aromas of sultana, butterscotch and candied pecans fill the nose. The palate offers notes of sweet dried figs, Christmas cake and cedar spice, developing hints of chocolate-covered raisins, dried fruit and liquorice that linger in the finish.

Malt master Brian Kinsman has given some of the distillery’s peated single malt a three-month finishing period in rum casks – but not just any old rum casks. He’s selected rum casks from a variety of South American countries to finish this whisky, which ought to play nicely with the burly peat notes at its core.
