Singleton of Dufftown Malt Master’s Selection 70cl, 40%
A bottling of Singleton whisky that’s a perfect introduction for those that are new to single malts, the Singleton of Dufftown Malt Master’s Selection was created by The Singleton master of malts Craig Wilson. He hand-selected and blended the whisky before it was maturated in European and American oak casks with three variants; ex-wine, ex-sherry and ex-bourbon.
Irish Reserve 26 Year Old (70cl, 40%)
A 26 Year Old Irish single malt whiskey specially produced for Aldi.
Another day, another long-aged Aldi single malt. An Irish whiskey this time, and once again I’ve elbowed my way past the natural Malt correspondent to chip in with my tuppence worth first.
26years, in Irish whiskey terms, is ages. A quick scroll through any of the obvious channels will yield hundreds of scotch whiskies of that age or older, but properly mature Irish is much thinner on the ground.
It’s brilliant to see Aldi move beyond Scotland when putting together their rare whisk(e)y offering for this year. Makes one hope that their gaze might turn upon the USA – or even Canada – in 2018.

GlenAllachie 18 Year Old New Release (70cl, 46%)
A glorious single malt from GlenAllachie, produced under the watchful eye of its legendary Master Distiller Billy Walker! With fifty years in the blending biz, Billy certainly knows how to select and marry the best casks, and this 18-year-old expression is a superb testament to that talent. Casks were selected from across the distillery’s 16 warehouses, some of which date back to the 1970s. Impressive stuff as ever with all those classic notes of nutty toffee, robust malt, and honeyed fruit that GlenAllachie does so well, plus, this is the shiny new bottle design, launched in 2024.
GlenAllachie 15 Year Old Sherry Cask New Release (70cl, 46%)
Originally added to the GlenAllachie core range in 2019, this 15-year-old single malt underwent a redesign in 2024. The whisky was treated to a finishing period in sherry casks before bottling. The casks in question were a combination of puncheons and hogsheads that previously held Pedro Ximénez and oloroso sherry. Master distiller Billy Walker described this expression as having an “exceptional balance of the distillery’s spirit and the influence of the sherry casks used during maturation.” We’d have to agree.
GlenAllachie 12 Year Old New Release (70cl, 46%)
The flagship in GlenAllachie’s new core range, released in July 2018. Matured in a mixture of virgin oak, oloroso sherry and Pedro Ximénez sherry casks, this has sweet flavours of honey, marzipan, bananas and butterscotch.
Prior to 2017, when the distillery was acquired by master distiller Billy Walker, GlenAllachie whisky was most commonly found in blends.
GlenAllachie 10 Year Old Cask Strength Batch 11 (70cl, 59.4%)
Batch 11 of GlenAllachie’s 10 Year Old Cask Strength welcomes a shiny new design for the beloved single malt, produced under the watchful eye of master distiller Billy Walker and demonstrating the importance of his masterful cask management. This edition marries single malt matured in Pedro Ximénez, oloroso, red wine and virgin oak casks, and was bottled at a natural cask strength of 59.4% ABV.
GlenAllachie 9 Year Old Oloroso Sherry Cask Finish 70cl, 48%
A single malt Scotch whisky from GlenAllachie’s Wood Collection matured in well-seasoned oloroso butts. This has delivered bold layers of coffee beans, sticky raisins, and stem ginger that works in tandem with The GlenAllachie’s honey-rich house style, a contrast allowed to shine by bottling this whisky without chill-filtration or additional colouring at a substantial 48% ABV.
GlenAllachie 9 Year Old Amontillado Sherry Cask Finish 70cl, 48%
From GlenAllachie’s Wood Collection comes an Amontillado sherry finish single malt Scotch whisky. Beginning its life as a Fino, Amontillado sherry undergoes an additional maturation period without a ‘flor’ layer, a stage of oxidative ageing that develops a richer colour and more robust characteristics. Hogshead casks that previously held this sherry style were used to age this whisky, bottled at 48% ABV without chill-filtration or additional colouring.
GlenAllachie 9 Year Old Fino Sherry Cask Finish 70cl, 48%
Fino is the driest sherry style which is made by biologically aging the wine for at least two years under a ‘flor’: a yeast layer that prevents oxidation. It’s known for its pale appearance and delicate sweetness, which is harnessed by GlenAllachie for this whisky, finished in Fino sherry casks. It brings notes of sugared almonds, custard, and orchard fruit in a single malt Scotch whisky which was bottled at 48% ABV, non-chill filtered and with natural colour for The Wood Collection.

Glenglassaugh Portsoy (70cl, 49.1%)
After two decades of silence, the Glenglassaugh distillery reawoke in 2008, and now it’s time to discover a brand new single malt, produced under the expert direction of master blender Rachel Barrie. Portsoy is a richly peated single malt, named after the coastal distillery’s neighbouring harbour village. Matured in a selection of sherry, bourbon, and Port casks, it boasts a satisfyingly smoky, maritime character with waves of tropical fruit, salted liquorice, sticky soy, and chocolate.
Glenglassaugh Sandend (70cl, 50.5%)
After laying silent for over two decades, the Glenglassaugh stills were fired back up in 2008, and in 2023, a brand new core range is ready! The distillery sits on the rugged north Aberdeenshire coast, nestled behind the beautiful surfer’s haven, Sandend Bay. Master blender Rachel Barrie has fond childhood memories of time spent at Sandend and even learned to surf there, and now the bay is honoured in the form of this unpeated single malt. Matured in a combo of bourbon, sherry, and manzanilla casks, it’s bursting with notes of tropical fruit and tablet, with delicate coastal salinity in the distance.
Glenglassaugh 12 Year Old (70cl, 45%)
A milestone moment for the Glenglassaugh distillery, which fired its stills back up in 2008 after over two decades of silence. After that reawakening, a growing stash of single malt has been patiently maturing in the distillery’s coastal warehouses, under the watchful eye of master blender Rachel Barrie. 2023 sees the launch of this brand new flagship 12-year-old single malt. Drawn from a selection of bourbon, sherry, and red wine casks, it’s layered with soft stone fruits, toasted vanilla, softly salted chocolate, and sweet, nutty meringue.
Benriach Smoke Season 70cl, 52.8%
Celebrating the time of year when Benriach produces its peated spirit, Smoke Season is the distillery’s smokiest whisky to date! While smoky whiskies used to be much more of a thing in the Speyside region many moons ago, that’s not quite the case these days. However, Benriach has long produced peated spirit for a short while each year, and this expression shows off the fruits of that labour in its full splendour! Matured in a combination of bourbon barrels and virgin oak casks, this one packs a bold flavour profile for sure.

Macallan M Decanter 2023 Edition 70cl, 45%
The epitome of Natural Color, it is the result of our commitment to craftsmanship and the use of the finest, 100% natural ingredients.
M is one of the darkest whiskeys we create. Aged in a small, hand-picked number of sherry oak casks, it proudly showcases The Macallan’s rich natural color.
DARKNESS INTO LIGHT
The Macallan M, 2022 release, one of The Macallan’s darkest expressions, highlights a rare selection of irreplaceable casks. Long exposure to sherry oak has produced a deep and brooding single malt.
This rare and exclusive spirit embodies transparency, as the quality of the whiskey glitters in the Lalique crystal decanter that encloses our naturally dark spirit. A personification of the rich influence that sherry-aged oak barrels have on the spirit within.
MYSTERIOUS CHARACTERS AND RICH HERITAGE
The spirit is presented in a pristine crystal decanter. Individually numbered, it is a masterpiece by Lalique, the doyen of French glassmaking since 1888. The decanter’s six facets reflect and refract light, bringing the dark whiskey to life.
The inspiration comes from the six cornerstones of The Macallan, namely the winery, our curious little stills, the exceptional oak barrels, the sherry wine, the natural color and the mastery. Together they form the basis for the renowned quality and rich character of our whiskey.
A CELEBRATION OF MASTERSHIP
The carafe was designed by creative guru Fabien Baron, whose vision combines aesthetic expression with commercial art at its finest. His dramatic concept challenged Lalique considerably. The vessel’s sculptural geometry takes the craft of crystal glass into new territory, a vision for the future created with respect for the glories of the past.
A darkness full of promise. a light that sparkles in the sun. There is no better expression for single malt and modern crystal glasses that could complement each other.
Macallan M Black Decanter 2023 Edition 70cl, 46%
A tribute to our unrelenting creativity and craftsmanship, this rare expression is a harmonious balance of classic Macallan with an unexpected peated note, resulting in a complex single malt worth savouring.
A MOST COMPLEX RELEASE
Rare, black ended casks holding peated whisky have been meticulously selected to create this unique expression. The smoke-infused spirit matured in these sherry seasoned oak casks has gathered distinction and depth over decades.
Our Whisky Mastery Team have used this rare peat note to create an extraordinary whisky, continuing to push the boundaries of creativity and craftsmanship. An affectionate history of a whisky, it expressively chronicles bygone crafts of the generations that made it. Those lucky to meet it will never forget their rendezvous.
Subtly smoky and brooding it may be, but the whisky possesses the spark and breeding of a true Macallan. In its honour, its new home is hand crafted from black Lalique crystal.
The Macallan M Black is utterly unique. Precious, peat infused single malt, Lalique finesse and lateral creativity are married seamlessly. This remarkable release is truly one to cherish.
The Macallan M embodies Natural Colour, reflecting our dedication to mastery and craftsmanship. We are committed to using the finest, 100% natural ingredients and exceptional sherry seasoned oak casks. A rare spirit epitomising transparency, the whisky glistens in a handcrafted Lalique crystal decanter. The six facets of the decanter reflect and refract light, bringing the dark, burnished whisky to life.
M was matured in a small number of hand-selected casks, proudly showcasing our rich Natural Colour, while the transparent decanter reflects honesty as there is no artificial colouring. Prolonged contact with the sherry seasoned oak casks have burnished the deep and brooding single malt; The Macallan M presents a chord of rich flavour notes. With an amber hue, M reveals the Distillery’s classic sherry seasoned, full-flavoured character imparting notes of chocolate, rich dried fruit and spice.

More awesomeness here from Ardnamurchan! You might be wondering what happened with the name on this one, did the folks at Ardnamurchan forget to add all the usual numbers to the end? Perhaps we got distracted mid-sentence by a colourful bird flying past, or a robot vacuum cleaner buzzing around our feet? The answer is simple, this is no mistake! Going forward, Ardnamurchan’s AD/ bottlings will no longer have all those confusing digits. The whisky remains unchanged though, following its traditional combination of 50% peated and 50% unpeated malt, matured in a combination of 65% bourbon and 35% sherry casks.

This should certainly hit the back of the net as a gift for an England football fan.
This is a unnamed English single malt whisky that was bottled by The Spirt of 66 as part of the Sir Geoff Hurst Collection. The bottling commemorates the 1966 World Cup Final which saw England beat West Germany 4-2.
One of 1,966 bottles, all of which have been hand signed by Sir Geoff Hurst himself.

Macallan Travel Series 1950s Decades Fifties (50cl, 40%)
This bottle was created to mirror the style of Macallan from the 1950s, which is described as being of ‘intriguing depth’ and with a subtle hint of peat.
Part of a series launched for the Travel Retail market by Macallan in the late 1990s/early 2000s, this expression was created to reflect the flavours of their whiskies produced in the 1940s. A creamier, more bourbon-cask-influenced Macallan than the heavily-Sherried Macallan you’ll likely be familiar with, and with a particularly pronounced peaty hint.

Peat and sherry is a great combo, though sometimes it can be a bit like a shouting match between a foghorn and a washing machine full of pots and pans. Thankfully, this one shows off a welcome harmony between the two. It’s a marvellous variation of Seaweed & Aeons & Digging & Fire, featuring the same smoky 10 year old Islay single malt, though instead of just 25% of it being finished in sherry casks, the entirety of the whisky was finished in them. The powerfully peaty notes at its core are mellowed by just enough sherry sweetness, making for a superbly well-balanced flavour profile.

A mysterious Speyside single malt here from That Boutique-y Whisky Company! It’s an 8 year old expression, produced at an undisclosed distillery in the aforementioned Speyside region. Croftengea 11 Year Old Batch 5 That Boutique-y Whisky Company (50cl, 47.8%)
The Loch Lomond distillery is famed for its unique and varied still setup, which enables it to produce a vast array of different whisky styles. But is all of that just a cover for the fact that it’s actually run by a bunch of wizards? The folks at That Boutique-y Whisky Company certainly suspect so. A smoky spell must have been cast when making this one, it’s a peated Croftengea single malt that spent 11 years maturing in a refill bourbon hogshead.
Batch 5 is a release of 183 bottles.
