To mature their Kavalan Solist Vinho Barrique expression, the King Car distillers in Taiwan use casks which have held both red and white wines, before being re-toasted. At the Los Angeles Wine & Spirits Competition this exciting Taiwanese whisky received a Gold Medal and an impressive score of 91 out of 100.

Water is very important in whisky making, so the water can have a big impact on the taste of the whisky.
It took the founder of Kavalan Distillery a very long time to find the right place with the right water supply.
Ilan became his destination. There is enough cold spring water that flows through the Snow Mountain.
The Distillery Select is the first single malt from Kavalan, which was created for mixing cocktails.
This ‘mixology whisky’ was created by Master Blender Ian Chang.
This single malt is distilled from 100% malted barley in pot stills; the maturation takes place in selected neutral casks.
