The Cotswolds Distillery was founded in 2013 by Dan Szor in Stourton in the heart of the Cotswolds, inspired by his passion for single malt whisky. Making their home in an old barn conversion, Dan had his stills build by Forsyths in Rothes – the wash still is named Proud Mary and the spirit still is named Janis. The first release from the Cotswolds Distillery was Cotswolds Dry Gin, which made its way to our shelves in late 2014. A few years later, in 2017, the very first whisky from the Cotswolds Distillery (as well as the very first single malt whisky distilled in the Cotswolds) was released – and has been very well received, picking up a Gold medal at the World Whiskies Awards 2019 and a Liquid Gold Award in Jim Murray’s Whisky Bible.

Tasting Notes
Colour: Golden amber.
Nose: Vanilla custard, honey, sweet malt, toffee, citrus peel, caramelised figs and toasted oak.
Palate: Rich and powerful, with vanilla, honeycomb, caramel, malt sweetness, figs, oak spice, citrus and cask-strength warmth.
Finish: Long and warming, with lingering vanilla, toffee, honeyed malt, spice and polished bourbon oak.

Nose: Toffee, chocolate, red berries, tropical fruit, vanilla, caramel, sweet malt and polished oak.
Palate: Rich and powerful, with red fruit, dark chocolate, toffee, dried berries, vanilla, sweet malt, oak spice and cask-strength warmth.
Finish: Long and warming, with lingering chocolate, red fruit, toffee, spice, vanilla and rich oak depth.

Palate: Smooth and rich, with vanilla cream, honey, butterscotch, toasted cereal, coconut, orchard fruit, malt sweetness and warm oak spice.
Finish: Medium to long, with lingering vanilla, honeyed malt, oak spice, light fruit and gentle tannic warmth.

Nose: Dried fruit, brown sugar, orange peel, cherry, roasted nuts, dark chocolate, spice and polished oak.
Palate: Rich and powerful, with raisins, figs, chocolate, cherry jam, orange zest, toasted almonds, sweet spice and sherry depth.
Finish: Long and warming, with lingering dried fruit, cocoa, spice, oak sweetness and rich sherry warmth.
