The Clan MacGregor Scotch whisky brand honours one of Scotland’s oldest and most renowned clans. The MacGregor clan history dates back to the 14th century and Walter Scott, the famed Scottish poet, once wrote about them: “While there’s leaves in the forest and foam in the river, MacGregor, despite them, shall flourish forever”. The Clan badge, a crowned lion’s head on a wreath encircled with a belt and buckle, is featured on each bottle and label of Clan MacGregor whisky to honour that heritage in a distinctive style.

The brand was bought by William Grant & Sons in 1964 and has gone on to become very popular in the United States, Russia, the Middle East and Africa. William Grant & Sons revamped the Clan MacGregor packaging by making the lion’s head crest design more prominent and introducing the simplified black and gold look. The surface area of gold was increased on the bottle label and the white and gold Clan MacGregor logo was also redrawn.
