Tasting Notes

Colour: Deep mahogany. This is a presentation-led inference based on the first-fill Oloroso maturation and product imagery.

Nose: Heaps of sherried fruit, honeyed figs and dates, chocolate-coated nuts, and a hint of leather.

Palate: Big and bold, with raisins, dried berries, cherry chocolate, and treacle toffee.

Edradour 7 Year Old 2018 No.2 Inaugural Release Signatory Vintage 70cl 57.1% is a milestone Highland single malt Scotch whisky from one of Scotland’s most traditional distilling names. This release is presented as the first official single malt bottling from Edradour No.2, the newer stillhouse developed on site, and was issued as part of the distillery’s 200th anniversary celebrations.

Distilled in 2018 and bottled on 19 September 2025 at 7 years old, this whisky was matured in first-fill Oloroso sherry butt casks and bottled at its natural cask strength of 57.1% ABV. Whiskybase also lists it as natural colour and non-chill filtered, which suits the dense, full-bodied Edradour style very well.

Although relatively young in age, this is very much a flavour-first release. The strong Oloroso influence brings layers of dark fruit, chocolate, spice, and richness, while the inaugural nature of the bottling gives it extra significance for Edradour followers and collectors.
