Description
Ardbeg An Oa 1L 46.6% is a distinctive Islay single malt Scotch whisky produced at the famous Ardbeg Distillery. Named after the Mull of Oa, a rugged peninsula on the island of Islay, this expression captures the wild coastal character that defines Ardbeg whisky while presenting a smoother and more rounded profile.
Unlike some of Ardbeg’s more intensely smoky releases, An Oa is known for its balanced and approachable style. The whisky is matured in a combination of different casks, including ex-bourbon barrels, Pedro Ximénez sherry casks, and virgin oak casks. These whiskies are then married together in the Ardbeg Gathering Vat, a special marrying vessel designed to harmonise the flavours.
This unique maturation process creates a whisky that combines Ardbeg’s signature peat smoke with sweeter notes of chocolate, caramel, and spice. The result is a rich and rounded expression that remains unmistakably Ardbeg while offering a softer and more accessible character.
Bottled at 46.6% ABV and non-chill filtered, Ardbeg An Oa delivers a full-bodied texture and intense flavour experience.
