Balvenie Tun 1509 Batch 5 70cl 52.6% is a highly collectible Speyside single malt Scotch whisky produced at the renowned Balvenie Distillery in Dufftown, Scotland. This release forms part of the prestigious Tun 1509 series, created as the successor to the legendary Tun 1401 bottlings.

The Tun 1509 series was developed by Balvenie Malt Master David C. Stewart, who carefully selected a number of exceptional mature casks and married them together in the large Tun 1509 marrying vessel located at the distillery.

For Batch 5, a carefully selected combination of American oak ex-bourbon casks and European oak sherry casks was chosen for its outstanding character and complexity. These casks were transferred into the Tun 1509 vessel where the whiskies were allowed to marry together for several months before bottling.

This marrying process allows the individual casks to integrate harmoniously, creating a whisky with remarkable depth, richness, and balance while preserving Balvenie’s signature honeyed house style.
