Tasting Note
Nose: Powerful and smoky. Campfire embers, smoked seaweed, and iodine mingle with honey-glazed ham and a touch of brine. Beneath the peat, hints of citrus zest, vanilla custard, and orchard fruits peek through, softening the intensity.
Palate: Bold and robust. Layers of peat smoke and salty sea spray crash alongside rich malt sweetness—caramel, toffee, and baked apple. Spicy notes of black pepper, clove, and a touch of liquorice add complexity. The texture is oily and mouth-coating.
Finish: Long, warming, and smoky. Lingering charcoal, smoked bacon, and a hint of dark chocolate fade slowly, leaving a dry, briny warmth.
Overall: A classic Islay peat bomb with depth and complexity, beautifully balanced by rich malt and coastal notes. Cask strength delivers power without sacrificing nuance.
