Description
Tasting Note
Nose: Dense and brooding. Rich sherry influence upfront—dark cherries, fig compote, and molasses. Beneath, a drift of leather-bound books, polished oak, and sugared dates. A faint whiff of pipe tobacco adds gravitas.
Palate: Viscous and commanding. Blackcurrant reduction, espresso, and treacle tart. The high ABV asserts itself, yet the texture remains sumptuous. Spice unfurls slowly—clove, cinnamon bark, and cracked pepper. A touch of dark chocolate and toasted walnuts lingers beneath.
Finish: Long, smouldering. Bitter orange peel and a dusting of nutmeg give way to damp earth and old sherry cask echoes. Warmth persists like embers.
Overall: A bold, unapologetically rich sherried malt. Not for the faint-hearted, but deeply rewarding for those who like their drams dark, deep, and intense.
